Oh, how I would love to go on this trip. Summer 2002 Alaska – Job Application One of my dreams is to take pictures of as many places as I possibly can, travelling throughout the world. Imagine the adventure you would have! And the amount of photos! The developing process alone would break me. :) But that’s still what I wish to do. I wish I had the time and money to even consider applying for that job with Phillip. *sigh*
What I do regret however is not taking pictures during my own travels I’ve already been on. I’ve driven across the US 1.5 times. :) Once from NJ to California, and then from California to St. Louis. And on neither occasion did I take one picture. Well, that’s not entirely true. During my trip from NJ to Cali, my friend Michelle and I did take a few pictures, especially at the Grand Canyon, but I’ve lost most (or all) of the pictures I took, and don’t have too many of the pics that Michelle took. I would love to take the trip again someday, but most likely will take a different route.
I’ve been considering (if I ever get the chance to take a long photo trip) a trip from New England, to Washington State, then on to Alaska. I’ve always wanted to photograph Alaska. Perhaps it’s that little bit of Jack London in me that is fascinated by it. (Of course, it could just be all that time spent watching Northern Exposure. Perhaps finding my own “Cecily”.)
Off the topic, if anyone out there watches Northern Exposure… Do you remember that one episode where they “explained” the origins of the name Cecily, Alaska and where the “Roslyn’s Cafe” sign came into existence? I simply LOVED that episode. And of course, that’s another goal I have set, is to get my picture in front of “Roslyn’s Cafe”. :) That one isn’t unrealistic at all. Actually plan on visiting the area sometime within 2 years. (money pending of course.)
But back to the subject. How I would just love to travel and take pictures! An opportunity to travel with Phillip would be a great gift! I believe that he’s done so much for the Photographic community on and off the Internet. His travels with Samantha were simply just entertaining. I loved every word of it. I think I must have spent hours just reading through photo.net. If you’re remotely interested in photography, or just want to see some incredible pictures, I’d recommend visiting that site. You never know, it just might inspire you. :)
