When barb told me about this band, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, I was thinking, “what a funky name. Cool.” But when I listened to their music… Wow. I know it’s not for everyone. By far. But especially if you like Portishead, you would love Godspeed. (I would like to add that they don’t Really sound like Portishead. LOL Just saying.) These guys are great. I just wonder why I haven’t heard their stuff before!

They just released their latest album, “yanqui u. x. o.” on the 11th of this month (US release) and It’s definitely worth a listen. You can get mp3 samples from their site. I suggest taking a listen. :)
