Well, I finally finished Final Fantasy X-2. It was pretty great! I just couldn’t believe the number of “mini-games” in it! Sheesh, could there be any more of them? The ending was pretty good, although because I only completed 95% of the game, I didn’t get to see the “perfect” ending. I thought the ending was pretty damn good, so I’m baffled as to what the “perfect” ending would be.
Once you finish the game and endure all the rolling credits, etc., you get to save all your settings, and opt to play “new game plus”. Basically, you get to keep all the powers and such you obtained through the initial game, except you start at level 1. Knowing how tough a lot of those things were to find, I like that idea. :) All in all, I’d give FFX-2 a 9.5/10. (because nothing is quit perfect)
One thing I didn’t care too much for was that they redid the 2 songs in the game. The theme songs, originally sung by Koda Kumi, were re-done by Jade, who did a pretty decent job. Unfortunately, I’ve heard the theme songs previously, real Emotion and 1,000 no kotoba (1,000 words), and already loved the original versions. I just thought it was a bit different since in Final Fantasy X, they left the Japanese version of Suteki da ne in the game. I’m kinda on the fence there.
The Really great thing about all Final Fantasy games is the story. This story continues from Final Fantasy X. I’d recommend playing at least a little bit of it and learning something about the characters before playing FFX-2. I think you’d appreciate it a little more. :)
