It’s Wednesday.

So it’s Wednesday and now I can’t wait for Friday. At least tomorrow is payday for me. That’s kinda exciting. :)

I got my sunglasses (prescription) in today. I love em! The tint is perfect! It’s some kind of green or something. *shrug* All I know is it works out great at night too, though I should wear them then. hehe.

I watched another 2 episodes of Say hello to BlackJack today. His new rotation is now in pediatrics. NICU (Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit) to be exact. I Really believe it takes a special kind of person to work in Peds. I worked there for one day and immediately knew it wasn’t for me. I Really love kids. I think it has to do with the mentality level, but I digress.

Tuesdays

The other day I heard somewhere that the best day to conduct an (or schedule) an interview is on Wednesday. I never Really thought about it, but it’s true. Mondays, well, no explanation needed. Tuesday, you’ve still got a bit of Monday going on there. Thursdays, you’re just anxious for the week to end already! And Friday, well, again, no explanation necessary. On Wednesday, you’re right in the middle, you’re good to go.

I’m waiting for Wednesday to get here already! ;)

And so, I give you this: Cheese Slicing Laser (via slashdot)

Only in Wisconsin.

Life is good.

We were born to love!

I watched a Japanese Drama called Strawberry on the Shortcake a while back, and for some odd reason, the speech one character gives popped into my head today. It was a speech made by the valedictorian at the high school graduation. I thought I would share it with everyone:

“We were born to love!
We were born to love.
We were not born to suffer.
The 20th century that has been created by irresponsible adults,
is filled with conflict and deceit.
We were not born to suffer.
There are times when we will meet people who are heartless,
and feel like hitting them from behind.
But we were not born to hurt others.
There are times when we will meet people who are heartless,
and we will feel insecure, or stifled.
But we were not born to be hurt by others.
Sometimes, we create another person inside us.
Perhaps that is just a way of escaping from pain and suffering.
Perhaps we are only preparing ourselves for escape.
Shutting ourselves in our home and running to another place,
in order to talk to that other person, the friend inside us.
That is why no one is ever alone.
Every one of us has a friend,
the other person inside us.
There are times when we think that friend is bad company.
that he is cowardly and cruel.
But in reality it is different.
The one that is cowardly and cruel is not our friend,
but ourselves.
Why?
Because in truth, the existence of that friend is created by us for our own sake.
That is why we have to part with that wonderful friend.
If we don’t do so, we will always be dependent on that other person inside us.

Well then, when will that happen?
It will happen when we meet the person we love.
When we give up loneliness, sorrow, pain,
and the person inside us for that person we love.

So! Let’s go look for the one we love.
Someone we love whom we can talk to about anything,
to laugh with,
to cry with,
to hold each other,
to kiss,
to have sex with.
Someone from whom we can get courage from,
and to whom we can give courage in return.
The only reason we were born is to love!”

Return of the King

I finally saw Return of the King today. I loved it. The only thing I did notice was how LONG it was. There were a few scenes that seemed to drag on, but that’s fine with me. The movie was great! It followed the book rather well, though there were of course plenty of inconsistencies. You can’t follow the book 100%, I believe. I did have an extreme migraine while watching the movie, though. And the girls behind me kept kicking the chair next to me (empty) and annoyed the hell out of me. But I still enjoyed it.

A couple friends said everyone was applauding during many scenes, but there weren’t too many of us watching it today, so no applauds. :)

I’m Seriously considering cutting soda out of my daily routine. Probably not a bad idea. I’ve gotta get this exercise thing going. I hear it’s healthy for you. :)

New Glasses

I got one pair of glasses in today. I ordered them last week. I can see much better now. I’m just surprised how much of a difference there is from just one eye getting slightly worse. Meanwhile, I love this one pair. My sunglasses should be coming in sometime next week.

They say it’s supposed to snow or something tonight. Then they said later that it was going to warm up. Sometimes I think the weatherperson just makes up the weather. I’m glad I’m not a meteorologist. People might hate me or something.

There was more to write, but I forgot it. Therefore you must be satisfied with this boring-ass post. And like it! :-p

Nowhere Fast

Today I heard a couple songs from the movie Streets of Fire today. “Nowhere Fast” and “Tonight is what it means to be young”. Man, those were some great songs. Totally felt nostalgiac. 1984, btw. ;) Man that was a while ago.

I did an interview today and the interviewee was Really early. I was so not prepared! Meanwhile I didn’t make any questions up. After the interview, I figured I better not delay and do that then, so I looked around and found some intriguing ones! I think I like this question is probably my favourite: “How would YOU design a toaster?” Rather intriguing! Of course the ongoing question I always ask in an interview is “If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?” This one throws everyone off. :)

Question for you RSS Feeder users out there. What program do you use to read your RSS feeds? Right now I’m using NetNewsWireLite for the Mac, which I Really like, but I can’t seem to find a Really comparable one that is free for Windows. I’m using FeedReader Alpha on Windows now. But it’s alpha. It works well, but not sure how fast any new updates are going to be released. There have been a couple of things I thought should be included. I’d just like to know what everyone else is using, or if you’ve got a suggestion, let me know!

Doctors and Drama

I just started watching a new Japanese drama called “Say Hello to Blackjack” (Blackjack ni Yoroshiku). It’s about a young intern who, to make money, takes a part time job working at a hospital at night. Watching the show, I started to think of the times when I worked in the ER and ICU. Man, those were the days.

Year in Review : 2003

Since a few people I know have been doing a recap, I thought I’d join in. There’s only problem. I Really don’t remember much. I’ll touch on the more important things.

July : Vacation to Washington State. Took lots of pictures. Didn’t want to leave. Saw Mt. Rainier. Went to Seattle. (LOVED Seattle, btw) Stay at The Salish Lodge. (It was just about everything I expected it to be.) Went to various Twin Peaks filming sites in Snoqualmie. Saw Snoqualmie Falls.

Christmas : Got a Nikon Coolpix Digital Cam for xmas. :)

That’s all that I remember that were momentous occasions. Feel free to fill in the blanks. :)

New Year Resolutions

Here’s my list:

1. Quit smoking. (this is every year, it’s such a nasty habit, but this year it’ll happen!)
2. Be a better person.
3. Take more pictures.
4. Save money.

I hope I can accomplish these resolutions! :)
