Chris at chrisruzin.net has developed a Blogtimes Plugin for ExpressionEngine! I love it, now I need to compile the GD Library into PHP then I’ll be set! :)

Here’s to all the developers creating cool plugins! :cowtiny:

  1. It doesn’t do anything magical really.  It simply shows your posting times for the month in a simple graph.  What you do with that information is up to you.

Some people, like myself, find it interesting to see when they’re most often posting during the month.  It really becomes interesting when you see patterns emerging and changing over several months.  For myself, I noticed that my main posting times were steadily moving later and later in the day and that I was posting much more late at night than before.  Not a big deal to some people, while others may find it cool.

  2. Sorry, Dave.  What you’re seeing is my next EE plugin being worked on!  That one is separate from the Blogtimes plugin.  The Blogtimes one is the single horizontal bar with the white lines at various places in it.  The numbers below the bar are the hours in military format.

The months bar graph you see is one that will show you total comments and posts per month.  This one I’m pretty sure will be popular, I just need to get over one more hurdle and it’s good to go.

  3. Chris- I see on your site a chart that shows by month.  Where is the more detailed info you mentioned, like time of day and such? Is that on a private page or something?

(The more I think about it, I don’t know if I’d want to make time-of-day blogging info public. If my boss or my wife ever found it, I’d be in serious trouble :) )

  4. Hmm. That last comment kinda just reminded me of 2001 space odyssey… “sorry dave…” LOL I crack myself up.  :cheese:

  5. Ha!  Now that you mention it, it really does remind you on 2001!

I like the live preview of the comment too.  Is that a new plugin you’re working on?
