EE: RSS 2.0 or Index Comments

Lynda has written up a great inline comments tutorial that you can use within your RSS 2.0 or index templates. This gives you the ability to view comments right there on the home page with an entry without having to actually go to the comments page.

If you like to have that feature, check this out. Very handy! Thanks Lynda!

I put together another new skin for those of you who haven’t noticed. It’s based on Ah! Megamisama! the anime. I love that anime. : ) Try it out here.

Enjoy!

New Skin

Ok finally got around to building a new skin, and making some minor adjustments to the skin code. : ) If you’re still on “the minimalist”, use this link to switch to it.

Tip for Recent Comments

jules wanted a way to link directly to a comment using the Recent Comments tag, and this seemed to work just great:

<a href=”{permalink=”weblog/comments”}#{comment_id}”>link to comment</a>

The addition is the #{comment_id}. Because EE auto puts in an anchor tag using the comment_id, this makes it easier to link directly to that certain comment.

New look, more skins to come

As you can see, I finally brought the skins back. However, I only have 1. : ) Well, I’ll get some more in there.

For now, you have to put up with “The Minimalist”. This is probably even more minimalistic than my original “Simple.” skin. I Really like the minimalist look. Love it, in fact. But, working on new skins. Hell maybe I’ll even make one that’s loud.

Recently Commented Entries v3.1

Ok, a bug was fixed where the Recently Commented Entries would show comments marked as closed on a moderated weblog. Download the Recently Commented Entries v.3.1 in the downloads area on the left.

I’m working on also giving the option to show the most recently commented on entries, or just plain most recent comments posted. Look for it soon! : )

Recipes Module

So to learn modules, I decided to do something Really simple. I’m going to create a recipes module. I know it sounds tacky to some, but I have had a need for something like this, particularly because I do quite a bit of cooking and need to keep track of all my recipes, instead of them rolling around in my head. : )

What I’m wondering, is whether or not anyone out there would like to test this module. This will be my first module, so it would be nice to get people to test and to get feedback on what would be nice to have, etc. Any takers?

Frasier – Good night Seattle…

I finally got around (or rather had the time) to watch the last episode of Frasier. What I’m not believing is how long ago Cheers was. Made me feel kinda old or something.

Anyways, I just wanted to say that the finale was great. I loved it and laughed quite a bit. I even shed a tear or two. Can’t believe it’s over. The ending… That was a good ending I thought. Good luck Frasier, and thanks for the 11 years (!) of great entertainment.

So with Friends and Frasier, what’s left? ER I suppose would be the only real NBC show I’d watch now…

On a Totally different note, it’s good to hear that jules was able to make the jump to EE. : ) Let’s all make a pool on how long it takes for her to kick out some serious skinnage for it. : )
