Fright Night

So tonight, we went out with a few friends to go see The Grudge. It’s a remake of the Japanese film, Ju-On: The Grudge. As a matter of a fact, it’s the same director. :) They just decided to make it with Sarah Michelle Gellar in it. (More about this in a second.)

Before we went to see the movie, however, we had to go to some haunted houses. We hit this one in Tumwater, it was 2 haunted houses in one, $10 for both. It wasn’t bad. There were some pretty good frights in there. I jumped more than a couple times, I know that. Meesh and a few of our friends were screaming here and there. All in all, it was pretty good.

The night of frights is not yet over. We went to yet another haunted house. This was $5, the Haunted Hangar, just down the road at the Oly airport. It wasn’t bad, hardly as frightening as the other one. But interesting with all the planes and copters lined up to look like crashes and dead folks here and there.

Then we went to this one haunted house in a residential area. It was free. It was also the best one! First of all, there was a guy dressed up on top of the entrance with a mic. He would heckle us, and just stare at us. It was very cool. Then we went in and the strobes were insane. There was this one room, it was white with people standing in various areas of the room, and some were just mannequins, (I think they were at least) but you didn’t know which ones, and you’re afraid to walk by each one, thinking they will jump out at you. It was very well put together. I loved it. I always envisioned if I put together a haunted house it would be similar. It started out in the backyard, then moved into the house, but you couldn’t tell where it did though. Thought that was kinda cool as well. Well done guys! They had a website, and you could get your picture taken and it would get put up there, but I freaking forgot the address. :( If I find it I’ll get it posted, because these guys were great!

And now, back to the feature presentation: The Grudge. I liked it. Some of my friends said it was better than The Ring, but I disagree. The Ring had a much better storyline. Although The Grudge was pretty good. It had some serious scare factor in some parts of the movie. But it did not freak me out like The Ring though. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, so if you like a good “scare me” flick. You should watch this. One of my friends got jumped so hard that she threw her popcorn everywhere. It was pretty damn funny!

  1. Ok, the ring didn’t freak me out at ALL. I giggled through most of the movie and I LAUGHED when the little girl came out of the TV. Maybe it’s because everything told me HOW SCARY it was before I saw it, so my expectations were too high.  Same thing happened with the sixth sense.  I knew he was dead the entire movie because everyone was all “ohhhh it’s crazy what happens at the end” so I just figured it out right away.

Ok. sorry for the BOOK I’ve just written…
