New Look

Ok, since I changed the outlook for my main site, I also changed the look here at my EE Blog to look similar. In particular is the change in look of the comments. Here’s a recap of what I did:

Added two new custom member custom fields: member_signature and member_mood

These will show up in the comments now, underneath your name, avatar and homepage. If you look at any comments I’ve made, you can see the effect that shows up. The signature actually shows up underneath your comment.

I made this look to be more like a forum feeling. I guess it’s because I frequent many forums, and I’m just accustomed to peoples replies as such. I personally think it looks a lot better and better formatted.

Please do note that you must be a member of this site in order for these features to work. Incentive to become a member I think.

I also made it so the trackbacks are “inline” with the comments. This saves some space on the site I think.

If you run into any errors or problems with the site, please let me know!

New and fresh!

Looks like a few changes around here are in order! I’ve updated my site, and this is the new path I’m heading. There are no skins right now, because I haven’t set up a method for changing skins yet. I’m planning on using the EE Plug-in for CSS switcher to do that. It’ll be tons of fun, you’ll see! :)

Also, a few new member perks. If you look at any of the comment pages you’ll noticed a new “format” of the comments. You still get the avatar, and if you’re a current member and have one set up, then yeap, it’s still there. The new thing is “signature” or “tag line”. I’ve added this to your member preferences page, which you should be able to get to via clicking your name at the top right (if you’re logged in). Please let me know if you have issues with this function.

Notes about signatures: Signatures are not auto formatted (i.e. if you put a carriage return or line break in your signature, it won’t make it do that for you. You’ll have to manually insert the line break (eg. <br />). It’s tedious, I know, but I found it to be the best working way. :)

Other than that, I’m happy with this format and it’s looking Really good! If you’re wondering who’s eyes those are, it’s certainly not mine! Those are the eyes of Ayumi Hamasaki, a very famous Japanese singer.

Site Watch

What am I reading about right now?

It’s a Moxie Girl! (via jules) – Welcome Christina of The Kitschy Coup! Seems there are more Moxie Girls than there are Moxie Men. Look out in the future for a calendar of the Moxie men. I just have to tell Bob. ;) I think it would sell!

Final Fantasy XI Anniversary Masquerade (via Final Fantasy XI Site) – Seems with the success of FFXI in the US, they’re holding a masquerade ball in San Francisco on October 30th. Why can’t the companies be in Seattle? It would make things soooo much easier for me to go to. How dare they hold it in SF? You’d think they were based there or something!

Interviewing San Diego: Tenth Muse (via joelle) – We all love Joelle, regardless whether or not we live in San Diego I think. She’s pretty cool. I mean, Seriously. She said Angelina Jolie is “insanely hot”! Right on Jo! *high five*

Oh and btw, LT IMed me today:

“You’re Hot!”

Needless to say, I tend to disagree. :) (she was referring to my pic from the “Men of Moxie”)

(edit: You know, after reading this post, saying “Men of Moxie” almost sounds like something you’d find in a Playgirl magazine. Eerie.)

Chainfire

I know this is old news (9/20), but I just thought I’d state it anyways that Chainfire, the next book in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind is coming out on 1/4/05, according to his official site.

I for one am Really excited, since I got to read the first chapter when I purchased Naked Empire in paperback. I’ve loved this series so far. :)

So, what’s up?

I’ve been working on a new site, The DarkMatrix. With new games coming out that will make many lives non-lives (Everquest 2, World of Warcraft, and Half Life 2), it had to be done. Seems like these 3 games might just take a lot of my time. Gotta save time for Meesh though. ;)

Recent comments plugin v3.3.2

Recent Comments has again been updated. Doc suggested piping, and so it has been done. Actually I’m not sure why I didn’t get this working earlier. I had been meaning to. :)

So feel free to download the latest update from the downloads section to the left. If you find any bugs, please let me know!
