DVD database returns

Well, I finally got around to putting up the pages for my DVD database that needs some serious attention. I’ve got a couple stacks of DVD’s that should be entered in the DB. Forgive my slackness on this issue.

I’ve also noticed a nasty problem with Safari on Tiger when viewing the DVD db. If you expand a title, then click to close that title, safari crashes pretty hard. I’m not entirely sure what’s up with that, but I’m still pondering that. We’ll see.

I have to do everything that jules does.

Well, not everything. But Jules had a link to Greenzap, so I’m gonna pimp them as well. I’m sure everyone in the world has already signed up for it, but you just never know if it’s missed a few folks. I didn’t know about it until I saw it on jules site, but then again, I live in a box.

It sounds pretty nifty, but I’m just kinda wondering about the name, greenzap… Different.

iTunes 4.8 released today

Well, Apple just released the latest version of iTunes, 4.8.

I was hoping some improvement in network share/playing. I found it. At least so far. I was having problems with 4.71 having issues. My music server is on my window box, running iTunes share, and sometimes my Mac (where I do all my work) sometimes got an error saying that it was not accessible.

All this seems to have been solved with 4.8 so far!

Oddness

Found a few things funky with the Recent Tunes script. After a while, the script would stop working. However, I found that after deleting the prefs, it would start working again. After a few more tries, I realized that by editing the plist for Recent Tunes, if you delete the history of recent tunes, it would be fine again, this time without throwing away all the prefs. (which is obviously good!)

There could be many reasons why that’s happening, but I’ll be quick to just point it at Tiger. I’m sure there’s something different in how it handles some things. Regardless, I now know what to do in case it stops working yet again.

even more additions

Ok, I’ve made a few changes/additions. I’ve made my “extended” entries into collapsible/expandable, as you can see in my prior post. I’ve also brough back the links page. I realized, however that I’m going to have to pretty much rebuild most of it, although I’ve got the typical links to places that I like to go. If you think your link belongs in the list, by all means let me know.

The site is shaping up, and I’ll probably start making “real” blog entries anyday now. I just have to find stuff to talk about. :)

new things added…

Ok, I’ve added an RSS Feed as well as enabling skinning. Currently, there is only “Cool Blue” (the default skin) and “No CSS” which is basically a skin that displays the site without any CSS properties. I basically use that one for debugging new styles. :)

Final design

Ok I’ve still got tons of stuff to iron out, but I’ve pretty much settled for this design for now. I’m still pondering on whether or not I Really want skins. Still not quite sure on that note.

Regardless, things are shaping up around here, and the next major stuff to add are the navigation, the DVD list (which needs some serious updating!), and the photolog/gallery. Still not sure what i’m going to do with the photolog right now. We’ll see.
