Are you running version 1.2? that problem was fixed with that version. if you’re still getting the error, then please let me know what the full error is if possible.

Yeah, I’ve been relying on Del.icio.us quite a lot to sort of track my...tracks online. Now that I’ve “captured” all that info, I do want to represent that on my site. I wonder if there’s some good usage examples of sites/demo pages that use your plugin to help the less abstractly inclined among us see the possibilities.

Well, the idea behind linklist is that basically you have one centralized place (your server) that would go out, check if a site is updated, tag it as such without the need for something like blogrolling or bloglines. You wouldn’t need magpie to parse anything.

However in delicious’s case, it’s a bit different. While linklist works similarly to delicious, you lose the ability to interact with the community.

There is a possiblity in the future that linklist would interact with delicious or technorati or tagcloud and would get updated with them, however, right now it’s one of those “wishlist” TODO’s. :)

It’s ok to ask these things, I created Linklist because people wanted a replacement for blogrolling or bloglines, so they already knew what they wanted.

When it comes to delicious, delicious is a pretty neat system. And I do hope to integrate with it someday.

I think ideally with delicious I’d love to be able to make it so that you can update your delicious tags and retrieve them without leaving your EE control panel. But that is not today. ;)

Ok, then how is this different than parsing a feed (such as del.icio.us) with Magpie? Sorry to keep asking obtuse questions, I just feel like I’m missing something.

I guess it’s all in the zipfile; still, it would be nice to see it all in one place online – speaking as a user.

If you’ve used services like Blogrolling, furl, delicious, or any system that creates a “blogroll”, then that’s what linklist does essentially.

The best thing to do is to just go ahead and install the module. It doesn’t alter your Expression Engine files in any way and is easily removed.

Yoshi, is there one place that I can read all about the LinkList module? Looks interesting but an overview/demo would help me grok it. Thanks!
