Changes, Looks, and so on

You can see I’ve changed the look of the main site. I’ve been itching to get a new design going since I bought the forum module. So what you see here is what the rest of the site will mainly look like! I’m gearing to get the EE-blog, the photolog, and the forums to look just like it does now. It’s going to be so much fun! *ugh*

Well, other than that, I’m still waiting for November to roll around to go see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I’m Really gearing up to see it since I’ve finished reading The Half Blood Prince.

If you’re having any problems accessing any part of the site, please let me know so I can get it fixed up lickety split!

And birthday wishes go to mikey. Sorry, no spooky images from me, I’m boring like that. :)

Linklist Module Latest Updates to 1.2

Well, pagination is now officially working very well. I’ve worked out a few kinks in the way that 1.3 checks the URL to make sure there’s a valid template, and now I personally think it’s good to go. However, I see an issue! (there’s always some of those)

If you are using the linklist in the sidebar (like most of you probably are) and use pagination, and you are on, say, a single entry page, you can get funky results. Not from the linklist, but from the weblog or comments tags. After I noticed it it didn’t surprise me, as I’m never surprised anymore when things don’t go the way I thought it would. hehe.

Let’s use the url http://www.psychodaisy.com/index.php/weblog/comments/this_is_a_title_permalink. If you are on that page and use linklist pagination and create a URL like http://www.psychodaisy.com/index.php/weblog/comments/this_is_a_title_permalink/LP3, you’ll notice that the linklist does paginate. However…you may not necessarily see the right weblog entry to be commented on. I’ve noticed that it actually display the latest weblog entry comments. This makes perfect sense, because I believe what is happening is that the check for the url_title of the entry is seeing the url_title as: this_is_a_title_permalink/LP3. At least that is my theory.

Now, to me, this may be perfectly acceptable. Most people will probably sort through the links on the sidebar, as they’re looking for the links, not necessarily the entry itself. It’s tough to say.

So, I’m saying that this version is almost ready for release, however I only need a few more people to beta test it. In a nutshell, here are the new things:

- Pagination : you can now paginate your linklist, with syntax almost exactly like normal weblog and comments entries. Plans in the future to have the pagination_links be customizable.

- Cosmetic Changes : The CP side has had a cosmetic facelift. Since 1.3, some of the CSS classes were changed around.

- Member_id parameter changed : if you omit the member_id parameter in the exp:linklist:entries tag, it will assume ALL members’ linklists. So if you have more than one person entering their own linklists, then by default, omitting the member_id will display them all. (this default used to be member_id = 1)

Hell’s Kitchen is over!

Well, the season finale was great. It was good to see the old faces again in the kitchen, although I did think it was a blow to Elsie that neither Michael or Ralph picked her right away. It shouldn’t have come as any surprise to Chef Ramsay, as he said, since he should know that they weren’t particularly fond of her.

I’m finally glad that it’s over however, and can worry about other things Monday nights. :) I thought the restaurant themes were great, although I think I leaned over to Michael’s side more so than Ralph, mainly because the retro look is kinda great, but I think I’m over all that. Regardless, it still looked great I thought. The uniforms were a bit different on both sides, the women for Ralph and the men for Michael. I have to agree with Chef Ramsay that they were a bit different. “the men look like ballerinas, don’t they.” I loved it. :)

Of course, I find myself not mentioning who the winner was just in case you didn’t see it.
