TGIF

Well, TGIF. I’ve finally completed a week of work. Now I have the weekend, and of course, next week is July 4th! I’m not Really quite sure what is on the agenda, but if nothing else, I’m ready to BBQ some burgers on the grill. Of course, I’m reminded that I have to refill that propane tank.

Well, here’s to the last day of June, and tomorrow will be a new day. Look forward to the new projectphoto!

The treadmill incline motor saga

After concluding that the incline motor was broken, I decided to ask them how much the motor would cost me. Here’s what I got, from a different customer representative no less:

Thank you for the e-mail. The ordering information for the motor is below. Thank you

The total is $ICS3407472 (which includes shipping and handling) and the order reference number is ICS3407472.  Payment must be received before your order is shipped.

Whoa. At first glance, I thought that’s too many numbers after a $ sign. Then I just noticed that it was the order reference number. Come on guys, How can you mess this up? Needless to say, I’m a glutton for abuse and replied back asking them what the real price was.

Deaths in amusement parks

In lieu of the tragic death on the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney World the other day, John of The Disney Blog answers the question of how many people have died at Walt Disney World? From his post:

While it seems like there has been death after death at Walt Disney World there have been only nine deaths in three years (source, Orlando Sentinel) and 15 deaths since 1989 (source, the AP).

I’ll be honest. As tragic as it is, 15 deaths since 1989 is very low. He also makes a point that out of the 9 deaths in the past 3 years, 1 of them was while waiting in line. I’ll have to say you can’t Really count that.

Currently renting

I just wanted to point out my first renter: The Grubby Halo. Since I’m all kinds of new at the Blogexplosion stuff, I never thought to introduce anyone. :P So please, take some time to take a visit, Jason has a Really great site! You’ll find the link to get to his site on the sidebar to the right.

On a different note, I’m doing some work on the Expression Engine Extension for Updatemail. This is the extension written by Albert. This is a great extension, I just can’t express it more. But because I’ve got a super crazy set up with my Expression Engine installation, I’m way too demanding for this extension. So I’m gonna tailor it to my own needs. Hopefully I can get done soon so I can send it off to Albert to be included in a future version. I have no plans of re-releasing this extension, since Albert’s doing a fine job of it already.

(mental note: this should have been an entry for the ee-blog *oy!*)

It’s humpday, June 28th

So today I got a response from a certain company (who shall not be named) about the broken incline on our treadmill:

Thank you for the e-mail. It is possible that the incline motor is broken. Unfortunately we do not have a way to test this on this particular machine. Normally a good indicator is the motor will make a humming noise but not move. If the motor is not making any noise then it could be a connection.

It’s Tuesday, June 27th

So in the View Askew-niverse, I must have been living under a rock, because I sure as hell didn’t realize that Clerks 2 was coming so soon: July 21st. It looks pretty good, and it has all the original characters (of course) and Rosario Dawson. Sounds like a lot of fun to me! If you want to check out their trailer, check them out on myspace.

After browsing around in Blogexplosion, I’ve found a few sites that were pretty nice, and I decided to change a few things in the side bar to show my current reads.

Hell’s Kitchen

So tonight’s show was pretty stressful. It was to me at least. You know, if they don’t get rid of Sara soon, I’m not gonna be able to watch this show. (of course I will, I’ll just get a bit more upset about it.) What kills me is how blind Gordon is to her plots. He even complimented her at the end of the show? Come on Gordon, please tell me you’re just playing along so you can be an ass later and sit her down to shut her up.

As for the elimination, I for one am very glad about it. Keep on reading if you want spoilers, or have already watched the show.
