It’s humpday, June 28th

So today I got a response from a certain company (who shall not be named) about the broken incline on our treadmill:

Thank you for the e-mail. It is possible that the incline motor is broken. Unfortunately we do not have a way to test this on this particular machine. Normally a good indicator is the motor will make a humming noise but not move. If the motor is not making any noise then it could be a connection.

Since I already told them in so many words that the incline motor was getting juice, but didn’t work (i.e. “making sound” as they say), I just wrote them back an email and told them “Oh well, the motor is broke then.” I’m not sure how it’s support if they’re telling me what I already know.

I’m not entirely sure why I want the incline anyways. I mean, it’s bad enough that I have a treadmill, do I Really need to torture anyone with making them run uphill? I don’t think so.

In the news today, I read that Sleater-Kinney is going on indefinite hiatus.  From the Olympian: “The upcoming summer shows will be our last. As of now, there are no plans for future tours or recordings.” Too bad, they’re pretty good. But I guess all things come to an end.

Today I re-discovered DPChallenge. It’s a Digital Photography site that allows you to enter various challenges that they set up. It’s very cool stuff, and the photographers there are Really great. It’s definitely a must visit if you’re happening to look for something to try with your Digital Camera.

On a similar note, my Photolog is now up: Project Photo. The idea is that i will set up a project for myself every month and hope to complete said project within the month. I’ll also be putting any photos I take for any photo memes or challenges. The site is there to make me take more pictures. I hope to practice much more and get much better. Wish me luck.

I think the project for July might be something along the lines of “Olympia/Lacey” or “Buildings” or something along those lines. I’m Really not quite sure yet, but it will definitely start in July.

Oh, I’d thought I’d mention that I was going to the map thing that everyone seems to be doing on their blogs today, where you have a map of the US that shows what states you’ve been in, but… It seemed fruitless for me to do it since I’ve been everywhere except North Dakota and Georgia. Go figure.
