Thirteen Things about our house:

1. We don’t have any grass in our yard. It’s all either concrete or gravel.

2. I’ll never have to mow the yard.

3. We don’t have A/C.

4. We actually have someone who lives in what would normally be considered the basement.

5. On the side of the house, where the garage used to be, our landlord has built a barber shop. It has a cool train up by the ceiling that goes around the shop. Really nice.

6. We live on a major street in our city. So sometimes it’s difficult to pull out off our own driveway.

7. Because we live on a major street, when the big tractor trailers are driving by, the house shakes.

8. The street makes it Really loud during daylight (and evening) hours. This was helped by adding extra storm windows to the windows on the front of the house. Helped a lot. But the sounds are still there.

9. Our house doesn’t have the house number on it, but it is on the mailbox in very small numbering. I have heard one or two of our landlord’s clients say they’re going to give him a hard time about it.

10. One time I had to stand outside for the delivery pizza guy to find us, because our house didn’t have the number on it.

11. We have 3 bedrooms, but I have converted one of them into an office for our computers. I do all my work here. Except when I’m feeling entrapped, and have to get out with my laptop and work wirelessly.

12. There is a tree behind the house that looks Really funky, and gnarled and old. But it gives the greatest shade during the summer months, of which we are eternally grateful for.

13. We’re just about ready to move to a house that has a better kitchen. ( I didn’t get into the kitchen, because there’s too many things to mention. 13 would do it no justice. – but i’ll leave one thing: it only has two drawers. and they are Really small.)
