“A scientist in the south pole was giving the final reading for an experiment to his base camp. He told them to record -40 degrees for the temp. The base camp replies F or C. The scientist says, “I don’t care just record it.” That is the end of the transmission.”

The question is this: Why did the scientist say that last message to the base camp?
