Here’s another teaser for you

This one is brought to you by The Constant:

“A scientist in the south pole was giving the final reading for an experiment to his base camp. He told them to record -40 degrees for the temp. The base camp replies F or C. The scientist says, “I don’t care just record it.” That is the end of the transmission.”

The question is this: Why did the scientist say that last message to the base camp?

Panic attack

Ok, so I’ve gotta post something here. Actually I was hoping to post my first video blog entry, but alas, youtube is mangling my video. :/ So I have to figure out what i’m going to do about that. I’m thinking it’s my video compression and the fact that it’s a quicktime movie that’s making it go wonky on me. Please bear with me!

How about this one?

Ok, this one’s a bit easier.

You enter a white room, 10’ by 10’. Inside the only thing you see is a man who is hanging from a rope, and a puddle of water beneath him.

What happened here?

Same as before, answer this one and I’ll donate $5 to your charity. :)

BTW, I want to mention that no one has gotten the other one correct yet.

Can you guess this?

One night, a man goes out to the bar, he gets drunk. He goes home, turns out the light and goes to bed. The next morning, he reads the paper. Dismayed, he commits suicide.

Now the question. Why did the man kill himself?

I will answer yes or no questions and will respond with “yes, no, or irrelevant to the answer”.

If you win, I’ll donate $5 to your charity.

Seattle beckons you

Well, ok, not exactly Seattle. But it’s close enough. So after getting the movers to move my stuff out here to Washington, I hopped in my car and took the west. I drove for 3 days, and let me tell you, it was quite the adventure. Well, not Really, but it was still fun. You can imagine, after driving from NJ to Redlands, then from Redlands to St. Louis, and now from St. Louis, to Seattle, WA, I can probably safely say (and sing) “I’ve been everywhere man, I’ve been everywhere.” just like the commercial. :)

After reaching Butte, MT. I decided to stop for the night, since it was pretty much the highest point on I-80. It snowed while I was there. I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to get out, and that I was going to get stuck. But nope, It was clear driving after that. The snow stopped, and I kept on driving. After passing through Missoula, I stopped at the last of the Cracker Barrels that I would see for breakfast. Onward I went to Spokane.

When I got into Spokane, I gave a call to my now wife and left a message on her answering machine: “I’m in WA now. I’ll call you when I get closer.” Of course, she tells me later that she’s all panicking and wondering “where in WA?” So she left work for the day, and waitied for me to come home.

And so, driving into Olympia, WA, it was now about 3:30pm, and I finally got home. And I haven’t left since. :)

And that’s how i ended up starting in NJ and finally living in WA.

I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore

So I took a drive. I drove from Southern California to Phoenix, then to San Antonio, TX, then to Tulsa, OK, and then to the final destination, St. Louis, MO, home of Anheuser-Busch. Why did I move there, of all places?

I knew I loved the midwest. The weather was cooler, things were much much cheaper, and all around, I liked it. Also, one of my Navy buddies who I was stationed with in Japan lived there, and we were such great friends while serving together, we just had to hang out and live close to each other.

I lived in St. Louis for 5 years or so. There were quite a few eventful times in my life there. All in all, I loved it there. But that was not where I was supposed to be. I belonged somewhere else.
