Whoa! Thank you very much!
Ok, so imagine my surprise, when I found out that this site has been nominated for the “just bloggin’” category of the Blogathon.
I’d like to thank everyone who put my name in for nomination. Ok, I can’t continue any longer! *tears up* Talk amongst yourselves. Go on go on.
Linklist Module Update
Ok, due to a crazy issue with counting the number of links in a linklist, combined with upgrading your PHP, an issue has cropped up. You may get this error:
Please re-download the latest linklist module ZIP and replace your mod.linklist.php file. You may not be experiencing this problem, but should still replace the file to prevent future problems.
NOTE: Linklist is no longer available, as ExpressionEngine has updated to 2.x and Linklist is NOT compatible with it.
Advice on my Home Theater PC
Ok, here’s the situation. I have a HTPC running Beyond TV. I presently run Windows XP Home on it, but I’m considering changing that to XP Media Center edition. I’m using an ATI Radeon All-in-wonder card to watch everything on my TV, and the Hauppage Video Capture card to plug in my cable. I’m also using the firefly remote which is awesome for Beyond TV (well, they were made for each other!)
My question is pretty simple. If I upgrade Windows to the Windows XP Media Center edition, can I Totally get rid of BeyondTV? Will there be compatibility issues with my current PC and video cards in my system to the new XP Media Center?
Do you believe in ghosts?
Ok, I read an entry on Breigh’s site, and she talks about this one odd time that would probably make anyone question their sanity. (I know I would.) It’s a very interesting story, and inspired me to talk about one of my own experiences.
Now imagine this. It’s Halloween. (of course it is. You know it’s not interseting if it’s not All Hallow’s Eve.) A group of my friends and I are sitting around talking about spooky stories. Someone then decides to bring up the Ouija Board. (of course.) So we’re playing the Ouija. A bit of backstory, I’ve done the ouija board many times, and have even been witness to it, but never touched it and it still talks about me and odd things that no one doing it knows about me. It’s too freaky, but that’s another story.
So we’re all sitting around the ouija board, and talking to spirits and such. All fun until our friend Cricket starts laughing. If you knew our friend Cricket, think of the name, she’s just like it. She couldn’t have stood any taller than 5 feet tall, very cutesy voice, overall, just a “hello, i’m chipper” kinda girl. She starts with a small laugh, then starts to chuckle. If you know Cricket, she never “chuckles.” It sounds so different. So creepy. And all at once, the other 2 people in the room and I lock eyes. And we say, at the same time. “I just got the chills.” Cricket at this point is continuing to laugh, and has her eyes shut, but turns her head to one of my friends. With a deep, husky voice, she says, “Hello.”
So come to find out, it’s not Cricket sitting there, but instead it’s a woman who’s been dead for over a 100 years (or so who knows.) and she was raped and killed. Whoa. She claimed her name was Alexandria and she was “borrowing’ Crickets body for just a short time. The entire time, it was Really creepy. I mean, at first, we thought that Cricket was just pretending. You know, ha ha, all fun and games, smoke and mirrors. But no, she (Alexandria) insisted that this was real.
Finally I had enough. I left the room because I was Really getting creeped out and one of our friends finally convinced “Alexandria” to let Cricket have her body back. Looking back, Cricket acted as if she just woke up, and knew that some time had passed, but she didn’t know or remember what happened. I suppose she was probably lying all this time, but you know. If you were in that room, you’d understand that it was very creepy. Very, very creepy.
Do I belive in ghosts? Sure. I believe in something. I don’t know what it is, but I believe.
