Participate in Friday’s Feast!
Appetizer : Tell about a toy you remember from your childhood.
Oh my, that would definitely have to be Lincoln Logs. I remember, because it was for my 12th birthday, and I had the J.C. Penney Catalog Wishbook and pointed it out and insisted: “This is what I want!” And lo behold, that’s what I got. How did my parents find the money?
Soup : If you could make one thing in the world absolutely free for everyone, what would it be?
Hmmm. This is a very thought provoking question. I mean, there are many things that I would love to say, but you must Really consider the consequences. However, if there were none, I would most definitely say food. Food is by far one of the greatest expenses in the world, because we must have it to live. There would no longer be starving children in this world. (at least we hope so.)
Salad : Approximately how many times per day do you think about your significant other?
Constantly. I don’t think I could ever put a number to it. I think about her all the time. All the time. No Really.
Main Course : What is something you believe in 100%?
I 100% believe in TLC. Tender Loving Care. When I was a corpsman in the military, I spent 2 years in an SICU/CICU. We saw some serious patients there. Although patients were not there for a long term situation, we got to know our patients very well in the short few days/weeks they were there. One patient in question, I’ll never forget her. (and I know you other health practitioners know what I mean) She came to us presenting with serious issues with her lungs, and she had to ventilated right away. We took care of her for 100 days. We did everything for her, because she was unable to do anything herself, as she was on the ventilator and was just sick. Of course, she never talked or did anything, it was as if she was in a coma, but not quite. Sometimes she was lucid, most of the time she was not.
They transferred her to an old folks home after weaning her off the ventilator, and about 1 week later, she passed away. We all cried when we heard the news. She was very close to us. The doctor said there wasn’t anything Really all that wrong. He said she just missed us is all. Well, we miss you too.
Dessert : Name one thing you have done this week that you would consider a “good deed.”
My good deeds, because it’s not like I see many people in a week, working from home a lot, would consist of letting people out while driving, opening doors for anyone while going to the store, and various small things. I’ve done quite a bit of that. And I’ve also managed to not get mad and blurt out at most people too, so I think I could consider that a good deed. :)
