Thursday Thirteen 54 ( Week 6 )

Thirteen things about my home office.

1. I probably have too many fans in this room.

2. There are 4 computers in this office.

3. I Really need to empty out the trash.

4. All my books are in here. There is not enough room to hold them all in my bookshelf. It could use more organization.

5. There is a “Cars” (the movie” PEZ dispenser on my desk. (sweet!)

6. Fozzy Bear, The Swedish Chef, and Beaker (the Muppets, yes) are all in their respective areas on my desk.

7. I have 2 sets of speakers on my desk for 2 different computers. Although I don’t Really need them both.

8. It gets way too hot in here. If it’s 80 degrees outside, it gets to about 100 in here. (or feels like it.)

9. One of my fans is a window cooling fan unit. Sitting vertically, because we have horizontally sliding windows. (instead of like a normal house)

10. The light bulb in this room is way to low. (40 watts) But I’m too lazy right now to change it to 75 watts.

11. My home office also doubles as a storage area for all my other “junk”.

12. I hate working here in the morning because the sun shines right into my eyes when I sit at my desk.

13. I have too many stuffed animals in this office. Way too many.

100 Facts in 100 Days – Day 2

Originally, I was thinking about combining this and Thursday Thirteen, then realized. I’d be cheating. So this is Fact #2.

2. My dad (the dad who adopted and raised me) will tell you, that when he first came into our lives (my mother and I), that I spoke japanese, and refused to speak english. Even though my mother would tell me that my dad couldn’t understand me unless I spoke english. Ok, I refused. Because I’m stubborn like that. I don’t have to remember to know I’m stubborn. Anyway, I would yammer on and on in Japanese, but suddenly, one day, out of the blue, I started speaking in english. I mean like I’ve been speaking it all my life. (all of 3 or 4 years woooo) And try as I might, my mom could not get me to speak Japanese again. (that came much later in life) My dad found it so humourous, he loves to tell that story to everyone. And I love to hear him tell it.

100 Facts in 100 Days – Day 1

So originally I saw this over at Katie’s site, and then saw it again at Eliza’s, so I guess I have to join in. 100 Facts about me, in 100 Days.

Fact 1 : I was born a moderately normal japanese kid in the heart of Tokyo. I don’t remember much about my early years, mostly because I suspect I have suppressed a lot of it. My parents officially divorced when I was 16 months old, and I left with my mother for new and improved adventures.

As far as my memory is concerned, my life started when I was 4 years old, living in the Phillippines. I went to kindergarten there, and I remember having a lot of fun. I have pictures of how I used to be before that, however I simply do not remember them. It’s funny, because I see pictures before the PI and don’t even remember it, but I can see a picture after that time, and I can tell you what the weather was like that day. (well, not Really, but you get the idea)
