PB and J Sandwiches

So one day, a long time ago, I was making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. My roommate at the time was watching me make with odd enthusiasm.

So I had to ask. “What?”

“You put peanut butter on both sides of the bread.”

“Isn’t that how you normally do that?”

“No, I always put peanut butter on one side, and jelly on the other. You must Really like peanut butter.”

“Oh hell yeah, I love peanut butter. But this way is the right way.”

So I present to you a poll!

  1. Creamy peanut butter, loaded real thick, but only on 1 slice of bread. Grape jelly on the other slice.

However! If I’m making a peanut butter and banana sandwich, then I put peanut butter on both sides *nod*

  2. It depends on how much of a peanut butter mood I’m in. If I really want a lot, I’ll put it on both slices, but if I only want a little, peanut butter on one slice and jelly or honey on the other slice.

  3. depends on how soon it will be eaten.  if it needs to keep a bit, a little pb or some butter on the 2nd side keeps the jelly from making the bread soggy.  But if I’m making it on the spot for the kids’ lunch right then, just one side.  But I’m a pb & honey fan, myself.

  4. I voted one side but I didn’t get this trait from my mom, she is a two sider.  I agree with katili though, pb and banana requires it on two sides.

  5. I love peanut butter.. but not on a sandwich, I havent had pb&j in a good 20 years and wouldn’t know how to make one if asked.  *gags*

  6. I have never considered putting it on both sides. I like them neat and pb and jelly staying on each side until they’re sitting next next to each other right before being gobbled.
