It’s Wednesday!

So anyone else out there in their mind when you read “wednesday” you are actually pronouncing the “n”? I do. But you know what? I’m weird. So if you do, then you’re weird too. *nods*

Seriously now. Rose “tagged” me in this game, and I thought I’d take part as well.

The things I love that start with the letter “S”:

New EE Module : Title Images

Danalyn at Shitty Code has finally released her Title Images Module. To view an example of the module, aside from visiting her site, go no further! I’m using it right here to display the entry titles.

This module is completely customizable, and very easy to set up. Installing is a breeze, as all it requires is knowledge of your website’s paths, and where to put the dynamically generated images. It’s worth noting that the images are also cached. This should speed up displaying of the images, instead of creating them on the fly.

If you’ve been working with any other type of method, and got tired of it, you should probably check out this module. Usage is quite simple:

{exp:titleimg}{title}{/exp:titleimg}

That’s it!

Is it just me?

While at the store, the lady in front of me was paying for her groceries.

The cashier mentioned the amount, and the lady pulled out her cash, and put it down on the counter area.

The cashier was standing right there, she could have handed to him. It’s not like he was ignoring her.

Is it just me?

Ok I lied

So I lied when this site was no longer maintained. I should have said that I’ve been too busy to post to this site. That’s what I Really meant.

Just for the record, I won’t be releasing new versions of any plugin or module I’ve written, but as new versions of Expression Engine come out, I will try to make sure they at least work.

So there you go, from the horses mouth, if I said anything dissimilar to you before, please disregard whatever I said.

On that note, I’ve actually made a new plugin, but I probably won’t release it just yet, since only one person Really wanted it. :)

However, I am alive, and doing well!

100 facts in 100 days – Fact 15

15. I love to watch Japanese Drama (or Dorama). I know this might sound like a crazy fact, But I have been addicted to watching “dramas” from japan. I know I’ve posted about this long before, but thought I’d mention it again as one of my 100 facts.

Why do I like them? A typical “renzoku” (serial or consecutive) drama lasts about 10 to 12 episodes. While this may seem short, it’s probably no different than a typical mini-series over here. This is one thing I do like about Japanese Drama, because a drama actually ends, and doesn’t go on and on and eventually get to the point where it jumps the shark. There are also times when a drama is so popular, there is a sequel.

Most dramas follow a simple formula: boy meets girl, boy courts girl (or the other way), something happens that builds a rift or interferes with the relationship of boy and girl, and then in the end, boy stays with girl. Of course, this doesn’t apply to all dramas. But this is the typical formula, and I love it. Call me old fashioned. :)

Another favourite of mine are the baseball dramas. There hasn’t been one in a while, perhaps since H2 – Kimi to Itahibi. I loved this show, especially since I read the original manga by Adachi Mitsuru

It’s Monday!

So what’s in store for this monday? If you didn’t already know it, Matt’s released WordPress 2.1 today. You may or may not want to upload. I understand you don’t Really need to, but it looks like it’s got some Really great features.

Also, VFXY Photos released VFXY Photos Beta 4.0 today. Pretty cool changes going on. One of which is Membership service, which allows you to register and associate your photoblog to your account. Very awesome, very nifty. I was able to make changes to my own photoblog, which saved some time for those admins there.

Other than that, I’ve managed to take a picture of my workstation area, as some of you were curious to knowing… click on it for a larger shot.

Insomnia Strikes Again

So what happens when you can’t sleep? You jump on the computer and do something. Anything. I guess you blog.

While perusing around the net, I decided to (finally) check out Skype. Yeah, I know, I’m still slow. I was under the impression that it was no longer free, which it kinda is. But actually Skype to Skype calls are still free. Although one thing I did notice was that voicemail is not free, which kinda intrigued me. But honestly, if you’re online, you can easily see if the user is away, but I’d still love to have the option of leaving a voicemail to that person. That would be kinda cool.

So in the odd event that you would like to talk instead of type, let me know, we’ll chat. :)

Why the sudden interest in Skype? Well, to be honest, while I was thinking of the podcast idea, and how I would Really love to have someone else to “throw the conversation around with”, I realized Skype is the way to go. Mugglecast uses Skype for all their podcasting needs. I should be able to do that too. :)

Anyone interested?

Pre-weekend update

Ok, so it’s not quite Monday, but I thought I’d post about the weekend. Here’s a summary of what’s been going on around here:

1. Inspired by Tiggerprr’s Project 365, I decided to start that myself. It’s now at projectPhoto.

2. You’ll notice I finally got around to putting up a favicon. (or you might not notice) Yes, it is me, acting goofy. If you want to see a larger version, feel free to take a look in the about section. Yes, that’s me acting dorky!

3. I’ve done some changing around in the appearance of a few things around here. I was generally thinking of coming up with a new design since I’ve had the turtle for a while, but you know, I think I’ll keep it as it is for now. Although I am considering putting up a Valentine’s theme for the month of February. (don’t hold your breath)

4. I’ve been researching videocasting as of late. (as if I didn’t have enough right?) And I’m pretty sure I’ll be trying that out in the future. If not that, then podcasting. But for the podcasting, I’m hoping to have a partner to do it with, so if anyone is interested, please let me know. I’m Really better when talking to someone then narrating to a microphone.

100 facts in 100 days – fact 14

14. If you’ve been keeping track, no, your eyes do not deceive you. I did skip over fact 13 quite on purpose. Which comes to my fact: I’m very superstitious. Honestly, it’s almost ritualistic. But I’m not overly fanatical. (at least I don’t think I am!)

Are you superstitious?
