100 Facts in 100 days – Fact 22

Before I go into my fact, I’d like to mention something. Am I surprised that my food site is number one on Google search for KFC Big Box, higher than even KFC themselves? How crazy is that? Ok, back to our normally schedule programming.

22. I want to someday open my own restaurant. I know that when I was younger, my mother had a restaurant, and it rocked, and I could have been one of the chefs there. A sushi chef even! But I was young, headstrong, and I wanted to go into photography. So I dived into that, and lost that opportunity. Well, now, someday, I think I’d like to have one of my own. But it won’t be just any type of restaurant. I’m sure some of you will guess what kind, but I’d rather not discuss that because I don’t want anyone trying to take it away from me. (Not that anyone should be worried, this is only a dream thing after all.) Suffice it to say, I want to open a Japanese-style restaurant.

I just need to come up with some Really kick butt recipes. Obviously I can make gyoza. But gyoza alone will not make my restaurant! :)

It’s Wednesday already

So I went to the store today to get stuff for Wednesday night dinners. (we have a group dinner every Wednesday – it’s a friend gathering thing.) Do people realize that “Express Lane” means Express? Are people unaware of the definition of this word? Express does not mean fiddle with your purse while talking to no one in particular. Express does not mean taking your time taking out cash and then debating whether or not to use cash or credit/debit. No, Express means fast people! Crazy.

On another note, I went to Burger King also to get lunch, and they have these big signs to advertise the triple and double whoppers. The last sign says something to the effect of “Bigger than Mt. Rainier”. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Mt. Rainier, it’s the highest peak in Washington. I mean it’s HUGE. I live 1.5 hours away I can see it clear as day. Anyways, somehow that sign made me scoff at BK. I mean I know it’s not Really bigger than Mt. Rainier, but for some reason it just kinda poked me the wrong way I guess. I was just saying in my mind, “Um. No it’s not.”
