My friend’s father is now in the hospital with pneumonia, and has been weakened severely from it, and the doctors are saying that he may not make the weekend. Please send your thoughts and prayers their way. That is all.

New books to read
Ok, so I’ve just got done with reading all the Dresden Files and Alera books (well, except Cursor’s Fury – I’m waiting for the paperback). I’ve finished reading most of my “back up” books. To explain, these are the books I’ll read whenever I don’t have books that I *want* to read right away. Which at this time, I only have 2 of now, Wolves of the Calla, and The Fountainhead.
So I’m asking my faithful readers, If you can suggest any books to read. I like almost any type of book. I’m a reader, that’s what I do. I’ve read all genres of books, even Romance. (Yes, it’s odd, but some of them are pretty interesting.) I do have preferences, but it would be interesting to see what people have to recommend. But I Really love to read, just ask anyone that knows me. I’ve been known to re-read books over and over again. One book that I’ve read at least 10 times (or series of books) are the Amber Chronicles. I loved those books. Actually now that I’ve said that I might re-read it yet again.
So please folks, recommend me some books! Reading blogs just isn’t enough!
Message from WDS
In the event that you are a Weblog Design Studios Hosting customer, I have a message for you from Danalyn:
Danalyn here from Weblog Design Studios.
If any Weblog Design Studios hosting clients are reading this (as I know many of you do), Weblog Design Studios servers are DOWN. It looks to be a hardware failure, but we can’t be sure at the moment. I am working with the data center techs as we speak, to get things up and running as quickly as possible.
I apologize for the inconvenience. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at: (since wds email is down). Thanks!

100 Facts in 100 days – Fact 22
Before I go into my fact, I’d like to mention something. Am I surprised that my food site is number one on Google search for KFC Big Box, higher than even KFC themselves? How crazy is that? Ok, back to our normally schedule programming.
22. I want to someday open my own restaurant. I know that when I was younger, my mother had a restaurant, and it rocked, and I could have been one of the chefs there. A sushi chef even! But I was young, headstrong, and I wanted to go into photography. So I dived into that, and lost that opportunity. Well, now, someday, I think I’d like to have one of my own. But it won’t be just any type of restaurant. I’m sure some of you will guess what kind, but I’d rather not discuss that because I don’t want anyone trying to take it away from me. (Not that anyone should be worried, this is only a dream thing after all.) Suffice it to say, I want to open a Japanese-style restaurant.
I just need to come up with some Really kick butt recipes. Obviously I can make gyoza. But gyoza alone will not make my restaurant! :)
It’s Wednesday already
So I went to the store today to get stuff for Wednesday night dinners. (we have a group dinner every Wednesday – it’s a friend gathering thing.) Do people realize that “Express Lane” means Express? Are people unaware of the definition of this word? Express does not mean fiddle with your purse while talking to no one in particular. Express does not mean taking your time taking out cash and then debating whether or not to use cash or credit/debit. No, Express means fast people! Crazy.
On another note, I went to Burger King also to get lunch, and they have these big signs to advertise the triple and double whoppers. The last sign says something to the effect of “Bigger than Mt. Rainier”. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Mt. Rainier, it’s the highest peak in Washington. I mean it’s HUGE. I live 1.5 hours away I can see it clear as day. Anyways, somehow that sign made me scoff at BK. I mean I know it’s not Really bigger than Mt. Rainier, but for some reason it just kinda poked me the wrong way I guess. I was just saying in my mind, “Um. No it’s not.”
Sending some loving
Ryan could use your thoughts at this time. He lost a faithful companion and great friend this weekend. Remington, his labrador, has been having issues with his rear legs and hips with dysplasia and arthritis. He had to put him down this weekend because he was just in too much pain.
Go send him some love and let him know that we’re thinking about him.
Weekend Update
This weekend, we went to go see Josh Blue at the Washington Center on St. Patrick’s day. If you don’t know who Josh Blue is, he was the winner of Season 4 of Last Comic Standing. He also has cerebral palsy. In order to understand why this is important, you must watch his act. Needless to say, he’s very hilarious.
Watching him at the Washington Center was slightly different than his stand up from when he was on the LCS contest, because he could curse. Let me tell you I think that was one of the funniest things ever, because he would stand there after such a joke with cursing, and cross him arms, make a serious face and say, “This is not what I voted for on that show.” Of course, imitating anyone who would frown upon all the cursing. I could not stop laughing.
If you get the chance to watch Josh Blue stand up anywhere, then you should go see him. You can also buy his merchandise at Bad Arm Productions. *snicker* that dude is funny.
Oh, I’d also like to take the opportunity to also say that he’s an Evergreen State College alumni.
photoHunt – Drink (week 15)
While you would probably never take a drink from this fountain (or maybe you would), to those of great thirst, this would indeed be heaven. This fountain was taken during a trip to Chicago, when we went to go see Eddie Izzard.
By popular demand
Ok, so some people have expressed interest in actually seeing my feet because I mentioned I have Hobbit feet.
So without further ado, here is a picture of my right foot, just so you can see that I do indeed have hair on my toes. This picture is not for the lighthearted! This must be like a fetish or something. :P
Blogging Map Project
Earlier this week, I received an email from a graduate student from FSU. He had noticed that I changed things around and couldn’t find a post I had made about why I blog. Upon further investigation, it turns out that Toby (aforementioned graduate student) was creating a Blogging Map Project. The assignment was to come up with a question, then map their travels through 15 individual blogs that approach that question.
He asked the question “Why Blog?” and I am very honoured to be included as one of the 15 blogs he chose to be in this project. His assignment now looks to be complete: BlogMap.
It’s very interesting. He makes comments about each site, explaining what each site summarizes for him in his quest to answer his question. I think the entire assignment is rather enlightening and he did a very good job. I’d probably give him high marks for this project, as it does look like he did some good research and probably spent some time with it.
While the read is relatively long (essentially 15 posts), I Totally recommend checking it out. Especially if you’re asking yourself the question, “Why do I blog?”
