Quick post about bumpers

Ok, just a quick post before I Totally forget. Pandora managed to put together a last minute radio bumper for me to play on MPYR Radio and if you missed listening during the blogathon, I’ve put it up here for everyone to listen to. :)

Thanks Pandora!

Surviving the blogathon…

Because I know that I want to be ready for next year, here are some afterthoughts after this years blogathon.

  1. Lots of snacks – check. I had all the snacks I needed this year!
  2. Capture software, to capture sounds and video on the screen. I Totally needed this so I can catch some Really cool parts to later convert to video and then send to You Tube. Danalyn, you’ve been warned! Capture wars are on next year!
  3. Movie Quote sound clips rock! A lot of people seem to like these. But being so anal about things, I think next year, I’d like to make sure I break it down in categories, and possibly into different difficulty levels as well. i.e. obscure quotes to obvious quotes.
  4. Plan out some other kind of plan concerning linking and such. I had so many entries where it was just such a pain to link people that I didn’t. I’m so sorry folks, I’ll be sure to have some kind of system next year, so I only have to enter a name and it will auto link it. I’m still thinking of this. I’m sure there’s an EE plugin for it.
  5. Definitely think of more polls beforehand. Trying to come up with new polls during the blogathon was tough. Almost painful.
  6. Get a better webcam for my PC. I’ve been Really putting it off. But I think I Really need a way better webcam than the old Webcam 3 I have from so long ago. It’s so old. Probably one of the first webcams by Creative. I just need one that looks like a borg attachment.
  7. Have a bit of variety of prizes. I think I’d like to have real gifts instead of gift certificates. Although Betty was Really excited to get her Amazon.com gift certificate! I know that next year I’d like to hand out a grand prize for 1 year of Flickr Pro. Wonder how popular that would be? I think I’d like to do a poll on what prizes people would like!
  8. Come up with a better drawing system for prizes. I know that I could probably draw strips of paper from a hat, and this year, I just had people choose a random number, but next year I think I’d like to have the readers themselves choose the winner. I’m still brewing on how i’ll do it, but maybe i’ll end up using the polls and have winners that way. Hmm that sounds nifty!

Picking up the pieces

Ok, with the blogathon now officially over, please remember that you can still pledge for anyone’s charity out there for another 48 hours. Well, 48 hours since yesterday. Well, you’ve got time yet. :) So if you’d like to donate to my charity, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and become my sponsor, then feel free to click on the blogathon logo in the top right of the page.

The Big Brothathon which I partook in during the blogathon with a few video diaries, is looking for people vote in the polls! If you happened to catch the brothathon during the blogathon, you should definitely go there and vote. And if you didn’t, well, you should vote anyways. Just don’t vote for me! There are only 3 poll questions! It’ll be easy! Just don’t vote for me!

After the results of my plan this year with the movie quotes, I’m definitely going to be doing something of the same thing next year. I think though I’ll probably switch it up. People Really seemed to like the movie quotes game. So what can I possibly do for next year? People also seemed to like the polls. But I’ll definitely need to plan that by coming up with poll questions before hand.

If you happened to miss the entire experience of this years blogathon, you can visit the Blogathon 2007 page, which chronicles the blogathon from preparing to finish.

How to eat a hard-boiled egg

So, while queuing up the movie quotes game (during blogathon), and being on stickam, Danalyn put this diddy together. She’s so talented! I <3 Danalyn!

Ok folks, I just want to point out that you only need to know one movie of each game. Knowing both is not a requirement to submit an answer!

So here’s a hint for the previous clips:

Game 22, Clip 1 : That was Morgan Freeman, and the movie starred Brad Pitt as well.

Game 22, Clip 2 : Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weiss, it’s based on a comic book, isn’t it?

Movie Quote Game #22

Ok, I’m still accepting answers for all movie quote games 19 to 21! Send em in people, let’s all get a chance to win at this game!

If you’re stumped on the previous clips, I’ll give you hint!

Game 21, Clip 1 : Science Fiction (duh), and I hear it’s played on cable all the time, it’s the “last” of it’s kind…

Game 21, Clip 2 : The movie is about Bob and Doug Mackenzie. Take off hosers!

Ok, let’s get crazy!
