Why people shouldn’t drive ginormous trucks

the list also includes SUV’s as well as trucks. Yesterday, I went to the store to get some food, because the stock is getting low in the Yoshi household. I then came up with some things. Bulleted lists are fun!

  • They use way too much gas. People Really need to conserve gas, even if it’s a bit lower than it was earlier this year.
  • People don’t know how to drive large trucks/SUV’s. eg. When parking, you’ll always see the big ass truck that is sticking out halfway out the parking spot. It’s because the person who parked there has no concept of distance in their big ass truck, and doesn’t realize that the front of the truck is about 6 feet away from the end of the spot.
  • When going through drive thru’s, all giant trucks should be banned, even if the top clearance is ok. Since people have no concept of distance in their big ass truck, they take up the entire distance of the drive thru, causing more mayhem.
  • This also goes for small trailers. Any dumbass that brings a small trailer through a drive through should be SHOT.

Ok, the list isn’t as big as I thought it would be, but honestly, do we need this big ass trucks out there still? If you use it to haul around stuff, then that’s cool. Ok! But honestly. don’t drive your truck/SUV through the McD’s drive thru. Seriously.

  1. I know this is a “rant” but it makes me laugh. I have the opposite problem. I drive an SUV (I know, I know, but it’s a BMW! And it’s CUTE!! And I hardly ever go anywhere so I’m totally saving gas. lol) Anyway, my husband is ALWAYS on me about getting to close to the car in front of us in drive thrus but see, I KNOW my car. I KNOW how close I can get without hitting anyone but he freaks out and tells me I need to leave more space blah blah blah. The problem is that he’s used to his car… which sits REALLY low and has a SUPER LONG hood (corvette) and I keep telling him that the hood on my car is like half of what his is but he just doesn’t get it. You’d probably get cranky with him if you were behind him in a drive thru. You’d like me tho. ;)

  2. A BMW SUV and a Corvette.  Must be rough, hehe.

The whole SUV thing came to a head a while back.  Car manufacturers started developing all those car based SUVs like the Ford Escape and Chevy Equinox.  But of course they were doing it becuase of the govt. CAFE laws, not because of demand.

People are going to be stupid and buy more than they need.  Especially in USA.  Myself included.  Before I left, I had two cars.  A waste but a luxury.

Like Betty says, she has an uber-expensive BMW SUV that she never drives.  Perfect example of waste and excess.  Nothing against her of course, just worked out that way.

Just wait till the debut of those flying cars.  Because once they follow that up with the flying SUV, we’re in serious trouble.

  3. WAN WAN!

Now if I was to eco-fanatically individual people think I am, I would naturally use this entry for a mini-rant. But I’m not going to do that.
