Plugins, Facebook, and Movies oh my!
So, as promised (wait did I promise to do this?), I am bulleting a list of plugins that I simply can’t live without for Wordpress. I’ll put that at the end of the post, so please feel free to read on or just simply click the link to continue reading.
So I’ve been obsessing with Facebook lately. It would seem that I’ve actually got quite a few good friends in there. What’s even better, is that I finally caught up with a very good friend of which I had lost touch with a couple years ago. I’ll just go right ahead and pimp her site. Take a visit, say hello, tell her Yoshi sent you. But I digress.
Facebook is pretty cool. While I normally do detest those social networking sites like say… Myspace, I still hang out and stuff, because I like to keep up with the Jones’ and stay up to date on what’s cool and what’s not so cool. I try. But facebook has some pretty cool things in there like Applications that let you send your friends a round of drinks, play trivia games, and even a vampire application where you can bite your friends. Pretty Nifty, I think.
All in all, I think Facebook is just a good way to keep in touch with your friends. Pretty much like all social networking sites really. But I just really like Facebook. But I’ve been playing with that for a bit.
As for movies, there are so many I want to see. I’ll even make a bulleted list. (because I stole that from Melanie. It’s ok, she’ll get me back by drunk calling me one night in the middle of the night. :P)
- I am Legend - Wow, who doesn’t want to see this one, right?
- Enchanted - come on, you know you really want to go see it. I heard it was great!
- The Golden Compass - I don’t care what they say about religion or whatever.
- The Mist - I read the short story thanks to cybr and man I gotta watch it now!
We went to go see Beowulf (in 3D). *snooze* Yeah the effects were awesome, the action was fun, but wow, the story was boring. They could have done something better I think. Honestly. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of flames for that, but hey, it’s true. Plus, I had to pee really badly towards the end of the movie. I was just about ready for it to be over with already. I think Meesh said it best: “All that movie was about was that men are just stupid.”
And now, my list of plugins that I can’t live without for Wordpress. (And their appropriate homepage links)
- Akismet - You need this. But it comes with the wordpress distribution. You don’t need to download it manually.
- Feedburner Feedsmith - Using Feedburner, I really need this to redirect people to the correct URL of my feed. This rocks.
- Lightbox 2 - Because I post so many images, and I just love how lightbox displays them, I must have this. It’s very nice.
- Subscribe to Comments - I always like to give my readers the option to subscribe to any follow up comments that may have been made after theirs. Very convenient.
- Top Commentators Widget - It’s always good to know who’s commenting on your site the most. It’s a good thing to know.
So that’s pretty much it. I just can’t live without those plugins.
You got more to add?

I’ll just mention that Golden Compass may be disappointing to those who read the book - they changed the order of some of the events. Lame. I still want to see it, but I hope it doesn’t turn out like Eragon. I Am Legend was a good movie to see on the big screen. Enchanted I definitely want to see, but I’ll probably wait until DVD.
I must say, I love your heading font. It seems so… Miyazaki-ish for some reason. Where is it from? It looks familiar….
