So it’s coming up to the end of “season” for the current Japanese dorama (or Drama). I don’t watch all the dorama. I mean there are quite a few running, but I do try to watch dorama that have actors and actresses I like such as Ueto Aya, Fukuyama Masaharu, and Shibasaki Kou. And yes, I will watch dorama with them in it even if it sucks. (most of the time anyways.)
So for the autumn season I’ve been watching these shows:
Galileo : This is basically a show about a genius professor (Fukuyama Masaharu) who helps solve intense mysteries for a new detective played by Shibasaki Kou. This show is really great if you like detective type shows. It actually reminds me of the old dorama Trick, although I greatly doubt it will be as popular.
Abarenbo Mama : Ayu (Ueto Aya), a tomboy who makes a living working in the sea with her father, falls in love with a beautician named Tetsu and gets married. But wait, Tetsu’s son from a previous marriage shows up at the doorstep one day, and I’m sure you can guess the rest. This is just a cute show.
Mop Girl : This show is about a girl whose life is saved one day by a woman who pushed her out of the way of an oncoming motorcycle. Instead of her dying, the woman dies. Now grown up, Momoko finds out when she touches certain things owned by those who just recently died, she time travels back in time, to make things right. This is a show much like Eliza Dushku’s Tru Calling. I’m sure there might have been some influence there. I just love this show, only because it has some great humour in it too. It just ended but I’m not satisfied with the ending, I’m sure there will be a special.
Dream Again : Ok, I forgot to mention that I also watch any dorama that has to do with baseball. I just love baseball dorama. Don’t ask me why, since I rarely watch baseball, although I love watching the Mariners once in a while. Anyways, this is a Heaven Can Wait story, except it’s about baseball instead of football. I still love watching it. It also stars Sorimachi Takashi, which if you follow dorama or anime or manga, played Onizuka in the dorama Great Teacher Onizuka.
Hatachi no Koibito : Finally, this dorama is the last of my current watched dorama. I’ll have to say I started watching it mainly for the reason that Sanma-san is in it. I’m a big fan of his. But, it has it’s charm and the story is cute, and I found out that Kyon-kyon is in it as well, and hell, I’ve been a big fan of hers since she was about 15 or 16 as a Jpop Idol. Although I have to admit I loved her in Manhattan Love Story. That may be one of my favourite dorama’s with her in it.
So there you have it. If you’ve made it this far into the post, kudos to you. What dorama do you watch?

I started watching Mop Girl but the translations I was getting seem to have given up… I may have to just download the raws and use script files. My brother is a crazed d-addict though… he doesn’t need the english subs though.
