VytorinSo have you heard about the news lately? Vytorin may not be effective against heart disease. So essentially, vytorin decreases your cholesterol, and reduces your LDL levels (aka “bad” cholesterol), however, it didn’t decrease the amount of plaque in your blood, which causes clogs and increases heart disease. So, the question here is, “what’s the point?” If Vytorin isn’t going to help prevent heart disease (i.e. heart attacks for those of us who need simple terms), then what’s the point of taking it?

On top of that, the studies that show this are 2 years old. What’s up with that? 2 years ago, they knew it wasn’t effective, and yet, millions of Americans I’m sure have been taking this drug. What gives?

Doctors are now saying people should be taking statins (a fancy word for cholesterol drugs – Lipitor is a popular one), since they are proven to be effective against such things. There’s a couple drug companies that aren’t very happy about this situation. I’m glad I’ve never had to take Vytorin.

Do you take Vytorin? If you do, you might need to talk to your doctor and consider taking something else.

Perhaps not all of you are aware that I’m partaking in a writing experiment known as This Is AWE: A Writing Experiment. Basically what’s happening here is quite simple. Each writer (of which there are 25) writes one word of the story. No writer may contribute two words in a row, and the time limit for contributing is around 5 hours. So far, I think it’s been kinda interesting. At first I thought it would take a while for anything to develop, but sure enough, it’s been developing quite well and fast!

I’ve been trying to get my writing skills improved, and this is just one way to do it. Plus it sounded really interesting! If you’re interested in reading any of my own writing, then you can try visiting these sites:

DarknessWithin.net
The World of Krolos
My WoW Life (this needs updating… but I just haven’t been playing WoW lately)

Do you do any writing? Working on your great novel like me? I know Diz is!

So today, it’s been a pretty slow day. Nothing super exciting going on, except perhaps that I bought Meesh a new PSP, which comes with the Daxter game and 5 top episodes of Family guy. Pretty sweet deal, I thought, and wow, the new PSP is so much better and lighter than mine! I realized too, I don’t have Skype capabilities with my PSP, but that’s ok. But she was pretty happy about it. Which is good to me! I like happy Meesh.

So other than that, my Sunday is pretty slow. How’s your Sunday?

Excellent!Ok, so Sodapop thought to give me an Excellence award. This is cool. So apparently I have to pass this on to 10 other sites. Holy crap, that’s a lot of sites! But I’ll go ahead and pass it on. Actually are 10 enough? LOL Probably not. I’d also go ahead and say this all started at Project Mommy. Why not give her some credit here? (Yes, I stole the idea from sodapop)

Without further ado, here are 10 sites that I’m rewarding the Excellence to (hopefully I didn’t repeat any):

Neptunebaby
Jenn
Katie
Kate
Melanie
cybr
Muse
Joz
Tiggerprr
Kailani
Luka
Pandora
Daniel
Colin

Oops, that might be more than 10. But that’s ok. They’re all excellent blogs. Oh, I’d probably have included some others, like Danalyn, but Danalyn needs to post more. :P

Photohunt : HighClick thumbnail to view a larger image

I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do for this week’s theme, since I haven’t taken any pictures lately that portrayed “high”. But I found this in my stack of pictures, and I’m sure my friend won’t mind if I showcase him on the Internet. This was taken during a trip to Akiyoshidai, a limestone cavern that draws many tourists across Japan. This was a lift from the top entrance of the caverns to the bottom entrance. It was a lot of fun and we were pretty high up on the mountain as you can see.

Are you participating in the PhotoHunt? Let me know by leaving a comment!

For those who don’t know me, I work as a flight attendant. This definitely allows me to interact with a lot of interesting people and situations. I always say, put 300+ people together in a confined space for over 6 hours and something is bound to happen.

Case in point, on my recent flight back to Hawaii I had a couple traveling with their 4 little boys. The wife demanded that the husband get a bottle of water from the flight crew. Unfortunately, we’re not allowed to give out bottles but we can fill yours up or give you as many cups of water as you’d like.

He took two cups of water and gave it to her. She was furious! “I wanted a BOTTLE of water not cups, you idiot!” He reluctantly came back and asked again. When he went back to her with 2 more cups of water, she yelled, “You make me sick. Don’t even think about coming near me tonight!” He sat down and didn’t speak to her for the rest of the flight.

OMG! How in the world can she speak to him like that especially in public and in front of the kids? And why does he put up with it? I guess everyone has a different tolerance level but I know I would never allow someone who is suppose to love me to speak to me like that.

What about you? How would you handle it?

Mahalo to Yoshi for allowing me to post here today!

Unfortunately I posted this on Pandora’s Box before I realised that it’d be more fitting for it to be here but it’s too late now so I’m posting this again. Here are MY glasses! In response to Yoshi’s video. Sorry about the whispering, my brother’s asleep.

Heavenly StairsSo my mom sent me an email, and told me to check out this link. Little did I know that it would be an amazing adventure with incredible photos and a great story! The Mt Huashan Hiking Trail in China may well be the most deadliest trails in the world! Not only is it just a “trail”, you do the entire trek without special tools or equipment. Possibly with just white gloves that you buy from an old lady at the bottom. This trail is incredible, and amazingly dangerous. There would be no way in the world you could find a comparable park in the USA. I could only imagine hearing about the number of people dying just from a heavy wind coming across the mountain.

For those of you who want to experience the video, it’s located here. The video entails the section of the North Peak where you walk across the planks. Most people would probably never see this section unless they were really daring and wanted to risk their lives.

A part of me would love to try this someday. But then the sane side of me says “hell no!” Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’ll never get around to it. But the pictures are breathtaking!
