How clean is your water?

It seems the phrase “Don’t drink the water” can now be applied to water in the USA. You might may recall cybrpunk being sick because he drank some water in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Well, what if you went to a restaurant in San Francisco and got sick too?

Apparently, prescription drugs are being distributed into the drinking water. How is this happening? Believe it or not, it’s coming from us. It may come from waste water treatment plants. Ask yourself how many medications you have that you flush down the toilet? A lot right? That’s right, guess what, a lot of waste water is purified, treated and then piped back into the drinking water. While the process gets rid of a lot of harmful bacteria and such that will make you sick, it doesn’t get rid of all the drugs that are in it.

You’re probably saying that you don’t drink the tap water, you drink bottled water. Guess what? Most of bottled water is still the same thing as tap water, except it’s filtered out numerous more times. And you guessed it, the drugs still aren’t filtered out.

What can we do? Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s an easy solution in sight. Since we can’t get people to even take some measure to saving energy, I’m pretty sure we’re not going to get people to stop taking as much prescription medication. Honestly. People are addicted to drugs. But that’s and entirely different story.

Unfortunately, Katie didn’t make it into the pictures!

Stupid Sunday

Ok, so it’s Sunday and everything feels off because of the silly Daylights Savings Time thing. And I keep telling myself that even though it’s noon, it’s Really 11am. I’ll be doing that for the next month or so I’m sure.

Blog of the MonthAnyways, I just realized that I’ve been awarded The Blog of the month award from Kailani! How cool is that? I’m not exactly sure what the criteria for awarding this is, but I’ll go ahead and pass this on to the following: KG, Ocb, and Neptunebaby. I <3 them!

Ok, so today, I want to do a poll. It’s how to handle comments and how to reply to them. Here’s the dilemma: should I reply to comments by editing the comment and adding a reply to the end of it, or should I just reply via email? Or do I just comment to reply? Here’s my problem. If I reply by editing the comment, this does not necessarily go back to the person commenting, so they might never see it. If I reply by email, yes, the original commenter sees it. However, no one else does, and well, that doesn’t make it very fun to me. Then finally, if I respond by commenting, then I feel like I’m just commenting to make comments. Yes, I know I’m weird.

So what do you think? Here’s the poll:

Cake or Pie?
