Ok, so it’s Sunday and everything feels off because of the silly Daylights Savings Time thing. And I keep telling myself that even though it’s noon, it’s really 11am. I’ll be doing that for the next month or so I’m sure.
Anyways, I just realized that I’ve been awarded The Blog of the month award from Kailani! How cool is that? I’m not exactly sure what the criteria for awarding this is, but I’ll go ahead and pass this on to the following: KG, ocB, and Neptunebaby. I <3 them!
Ok, so today, I want to do a poll. It’s how to handle comments and how to reply to them. Here’s the dilemma: should I reply to comments by editing the comment and adding a reply to the end of it, or should I just reply via email? Or do I just comment to reply? Here’s my problem. If I reply by editing the comment, this does not necessarily go back to the person commenting, so they might never see it. If I reply by email, yes, the original commenter sees it. However, no one else does, and well, that doesn’t make it very fun to me. Then finally, if I respond by commenting, then I feel like I’m just commenting to make comments. Yes, I know I’m weird.

I hate when people edit comments to add the reply. Hate it, I tell you! HATE. IT!
So… you had Daylight Savings? Huh, didn’t realize it. So you’re 11 hours behind me now?
I prefer it when people reply with another comment. It keeps the conversation going. That is unless the reply is irrelevant to the public or contains frontal nudity.
I’ve this ongoing debate with myself over this for as long as I can remember. I’ve tried all three options at one point but have never been completely satisfied with any of it.
That’s why I’m waiting for you to write a program like comment responder that will automatically email a commenter when I edit their comment.
