Are Real Dolls too real?

So maybe you’ve heard of it, but maybe you haven’t. There is a company that manufacturers “dolls” that are very very realistic. They’re known as Real Dolls. This is apparently a very lucrative business. But it might surprise you that not everyone buys these for the apparent reason. They have them for companionship.

Perhaps you have seen the movie Lars and the Real Girl where Lars brings home a new girlfriend from the internet. The only thing is, she’s not real. But Lars treats her like she is. This is pretty much what many people are doing out there.

I know what you’re thinking. It’s sick, right? It’s just downright crazy? I mean, they’re not real! seriously. They probably need to have their heads checked. While I agree with some of that, you can’t help but feel bad for some of them. ocB sent me a link to a video (after the bump - this is not safe for work!) that documents a few guys with their real dolls.

Wow! I have to say that I’m disgusted, scared, and petrified. And yet, I can’t help but feel a little sorry for them. But watching this video really opened my mind up a little too much I think. I like to think that I’m very open minded, and this documentary really pushed them. I’m really glad that the guys in the documentary realize that the dolls are exactly that, dolls, and they weren’t thinking they were real. Because that would just totally creep me the hell out.

But honestly, what I think really creeps me out is how real the dolls are. They are almost too real! I think that might even be the problem people have with certain CGI type films. It’s too real. We know it’s not real therefore we must reject it as fake. It could just be a human flaw, but honestly. It’s still a bit creepy to me.

Oh and the ladies looking for men? Yes, they have Real Doll men. Although I don’t think they have quite the variety.

I was ok with it until the whole cleaning of the doll bit (wretch) and the donating of the pubic hair (unswallow).

You forgot to mention the shemale doll. now THAT is where it’s at! (no offense to any readers who may or may not be of above mentioned orientation.)

Well, I haven’t watched the video since I’m at work, but I don’t really think these products are gross. Think about it and consider the alternatives.

This may be a synthetic product but for a lonely person, it may be the exact thing they need to keep going in the lives. Would it be better if they risked their life and freedom attempting to find a hooker that wasn’t a cop or riddled with 5 different STDs? Would it be better for them to take out their frustrations in more violent and persuasive ways?

This is a service. You may not agree with it, but it’s safe, drug & disease clean and if placed in warm water… even the same body temperature as a real person. Yes they may be a doll, but it’s better than many alternatives. I’ve known people who would have been much happier with one of these than the person they were dating or married to.

Personally, I don’t think the dolls themselves are gross. I agree, they serve a function. I’m talking about the guys in that film. Not all of them are scary to me. You’ll be certain to know which ones probably scared me a bit. While I’m not against using the dolls as sexual toys, I’m just a bit wary when someone treats them the way they do.

It’s just creepy. Watch the video. you’ll see. But yeah, I’ll agree with ocB for sure on the cleaning thing. ugh.

Um, I’m not sure what to say. On one hand I see that it serves a purpose even though some of the acts are creepy. Personally, I would never even consider using these.

yeah, it is the dressing them and talking to them that really pushes it to the next level.. creepy.

but srsly. there are a lot of other devices that are less invasive to real life that one could get for ‘certain purposes’… the dolls are not just for that purpose, they.. i don’t know. i think it replaces companionship in an unhealthy way. a lazy way. it requires work to find a person to be with. more work to leave a person that you are unhappy with. i think the doll is a cop-out in that regard.

I saw this documentary a while back. I like to tell myself, what people do in their own homes that don’t hurt other people is their own business and I try to be open minded but it is creepy.

One of these days there will be robotic dolls that are lifelike, they will have a computerized brain and they will be able to walk, talk, carry on conversations, and will be like a real human in every way. I am a transgender male to female, and I have found that many men go for “shemales” like me, because they are so tired of all the crap they get from females. I would think that men that have sex with these dolls are much about the same as the men that are looking to other alternatives when they date T-girls (transgender M/F). Men want beautiful women for sex, and nature just doesn’t make enough of them.
