		<description>What they don&#039;t mention is that Polaroid has been losing money on instant film ever since 1-hour photo developing was introduced. Polaroid was really only being used for truly instant applications (like  temporary identification) or &quot;private&quot; situations. 
They also don&#039;t mention that polaroids don&#039;t last longer than a year or two without degrading so they end up being thrown out - and they aren&#039;t exactly biodegradable. 
Polaroid is iconic though. It&#039;ll be missed - but they are developing the instant digital: Directly from camera to frame. </description>
