I am an American

When you read this, I should be in Seattle, at USCIS, taking my vows to become a US Citizen. Finally! I will officially be an Naturalized American. Not sure why they call it Naturalized, but who cares, it just means that I will be able to vote and be eligible to take a federal job. Oh, consequently, I can also become a police officer. Not that I wish to become one, it’s a bit too much for me. I could see myself stressing out on that job. seriously.

But now that I will be an American, I will be going to register to vote, as well as getting a new passport. You know, just in case I decide to travel out of the country, like going to Japan or something. Also, I just realized, I can now stand jury duty. Wow, I’m so not enthused about that.

Big day today, the plan for dinner is chili cheese dogs, tater tots, and apple pie. How much more American can you get than that?

Hokaben

Hokaben All CastSo one of the doramas I’m watching this season is Hokaben. It stars Ueto Aya as a young hopeful lawyer who wants to be the savior of the weak. Her idea of what lawyers are is perhaps a bit naive, but I like to see some hope in the world. Normally, I don’t watch lawyer shows, but this turned out to be pretty interesting.

The first case of the show, which starts as a divorce case turns out to become a domestic violence issue and then to a child molestation case. It peaked my interest for sure because I seriously wanted to see the father/husband rot in jail or burn at the stake. But seriously, this could become a pretty good dorama, even if Ueto Aya isn’t being all cutesy. This is good for her, since it’s a serious role. I like her like that.

What dorama do you watch?

Photohunt : unique/funny signs

Sign at Mt. Rainier park

You’re probably wondering what I found so different about this sign. Well, I just thought that the “no weapons” was kind of an obvious thing and quite the “duh” thing to list. But I know with some people you have to stress it. But yeah, I saw this sign at a waterfall on the way up to Paradise at Mt. Rainier. Very pretty area.

Are you participating in the PhotoHunt? Let me know by leaving a comment!

It’s Saturday here

Hi! This is cybrpunk from cybrpunk.com and A Little Scary. It’s not actually Friday where I’m at (it’s noon on Saturday) but I think it’s still Friday where Yoshi lives so this still counts!

Anyway, I just thought I’d pop by and waste space on Yoshi’s site for a change instead of my own site. It’s like doing graffiti on the side of someone’s house but without the fear of getting caught or the colors and spattered clothes and birds flying around and stuff like that. Exactly. I’m glad you’re following me on that one.

Well, that’s all I got. I’m just not feeling all the entertaining at the moment. It’s like someone’s vacuumed all the funny out of me today. I think it’s because I have to clean the litter box yet and I know it’s not going to be pleasant. Not that it ever is but you get the idea. And the little cat likes to “help out” meaning that as I scoop up the poops he likes to try and bat it out of the scooper with his little paws. He’s very helpful.

Because I update my OWN blog so much…

I thought I’d write here! Actually, I keep thinking of good things to write about but never actually write. It’s not writer’s block, I’m just a lazy ass. :(

I should get my blogging license taken away. But then what would the 5 people who read my blog do with the 3 seconds it takes to stop by and realize I haven’t said anything for days or weeks or months…?

I think I just have a case of the blogging blahs…

my internal clock is out of whack, an ode to wine

Go to bed and wake up at the weirdest times possible and you end up with your body going “it’s Saturday” and the calendar mocking you and flipping you off. Last night I had a meeting with an old friend of mine: wine.

Wine can ease the pain. Wine can make you happy. Wine can help you forget your problems. If used properly it can impress and if used improperly it can embarrass. I used to keep a close relationship with wine until a few months ago but I, being the stupid person that I am, decided to break up with it. We didn’t even say goodbye and I guess it’s been holding a grudge since then.

Last night it tempted me to drink and I obliged. After a couple of glasses the taste grew sweeter and I decided to go all the way. It seemed like a perfect time for a one-night-stand with it. I had been thinking about it for a while anyway and so I did. I drunk the whole bottle and it was great.

No, it was more than great; it was liberating! I breathed like a free man. I did not feel like I was tied up to a desk covered in books, notes and coursework. University seemed like miles away and all I had in front of me was a portal to a magical land called The Blogosphere.

So I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to all the people who received my comments on their blogs and my random e-mails although from what I understand they were entertaining. Also, apologies to my followers on Twitter; I hope I didn’t tweet too much for you. I tend to get very chatty when tipsy or drunk.

However, wine had it in for me. Only about an hour after the bottle was emptied the first hangover symptoms started to appear. You see, I have a fast metabolism and I get drunk quickly (if I drink enough or in this case only one bottle was enough since I hadn’t had alcohol in almost a month) but the problem with a fast metabolism is that you go past drunk and get a headache very quickly also. Wine got its revenge around 3 last night and I slowly started to crash not replying to your emails or comment responses.

I say all this because while there is no more wine left, there are beers. Even though beer is not as elegant as wine, I can see myself falling for its sweet-talk in a couple of hours. Yes, I think I’ll end up drowning my stress in alcohol again tonight. I hope I don’t bug you guys too much.

Yoshi, you were one of the lucky ones. I didn’t bug you. Or did I? I can’t remember any more.

This post was brought to you by Colin of therapy in the making.
