Raffle tickets to help our own!Lisa has been diagnosed (again) with cancer! Miss Ann Thrope is coordinating a fundraiser raffle to help her get her and her kids to Disney. This is a good thing. They’re giving away some really cool things too. I think I might try to find some stuff to add on to the raffle if need be.

Anyways, visit now! Have a heart people, even $1 counts!

If you have a website and would like to help, please spread the news about the raffle! Post about it, and link to the raffle site! Please consider adding the button!

[updated] I’m making this post sticky, so it will always be shown until the raffle is over. Scroll down to view the latest posts! If you’re looking for the Saturday PhotoHunt, just scroll down some.

[updated] Danalyn made an AWESOME video for Lisa, and wow. Just wow. (video after the bump)

Upgraded

WordpressOk, so I just decided to go ahead and upgrade to Wordpress 2.5. Yeah, I know. Usually I’d wait at least until a point release, but this time I just wanted to get going and upgrade it already. Fantastico takes forever to upgrade, so I’m not waiting for them on this website. (I’ll wait to upgrade my other websites when Fantastico updates. It’s not too important right now for them to be upgraded)

Anyways, there are some features I like. For instance, you can insert a youtube video now just by inserting the URL. Pretty slick, I must say. No plugin needed there. (although I have to keep the plugin for my old videos. Either that or edit all my old posts!) Another thing that’s not bad is the full screen mode to enter a post. I thought this was kinda funny, since ExpressionEngine 2.0 has the same feature. I guess they had the same thoughts. Who knows. Also, the media gallery thing is pretty nice. You can upload multiple images for a post, then have them show up in a gallery within that post. Pretty neat if I may say so myself.

There are numerous other features, but honestly. If you want to see them you’re gonna have to upgrade.  Have you upgraded yet?

Craigslist hoax not a hoax

Remember when I wrote that post about Hoax Craigslist ads? Well, turns out, the police say it wasn’t a hoax after all. What apparently happened was a couple in the area had stolen some horsing gear from the gentleman and to cover it up, they made the craigslist ad. That’s right folks, to cover up their own crime, they made everyone else come and take stuff. How crazy is this? I have to admit, it’s pretty sneaky, but they probably needed to cover it up a bit better since they got caught.

Sadly enough, the gentleman has not received all his items back. I’m still floored that people thought it must be real because it’s on the internet. It just makes me sick!
