The cat saga continues

So our cat is doing better. Her teeth are looking good, but now she’s been throwing up constantly. This is causing a big problem, because now she’s not getting any food. She’s not keeping down enough food to give her any nutrition. She hasn’t gone to the litterbox hardly at all, if at all. So Meesh brought her in for a stop at the vet, and they said she looks good blood work wise, so they don’t know why she’s throwing up.

What? No ideas? Wow. If you went to the doctor and you were throwing up constantly and they said you look good so they didn’t know why you were throwing up after every meal, would you accept that?

Yeah, don’t answer that.

So they fed her some different food to try out and she did good with that at the vet’s office for a couple hours. How frustrating!

My cats got a ‘wonky’ stomach. We have to feed him a particular brand of Vet Cat Food or he starts yacking all over the place. It’s expensive too…but we love the little freak so he gets it. I think it was around $65 a bag last time we bought it.

I would go to a different vet. I mean we humans seek second opinions..why not felines lol.

I hope she feels better soon.

Danalyn Says:

When we put our last cat down, he had “blocked cat syndrome” (urinary tract obstruction). Unfortunately, we didn’t know anything about it, so we were too late when we took him in. :(

Anyway, symptoms were he wouldn’t pee, and when he did, it was really thick and clogging up the litter box (we have one of those auto litter maid boxes)…in the end, he was throwing up like mad, and eventually threw up blood.

The vet said it affects males more than females because their pee holes are smaller…but I’d check her pee (when she does pee). If it’s thick, borderline sludge-like, I’d take her into an emergency pet clinic asap!

Daddy Forever Says:

Sorry about your cat. Sounds like you need to find another vet.

kailani Says:

Poor kitty! I hope they find out what’s wrong. Can cats be hooked up to IVs?

Danalyn Says:

Yes they can.

Yoshi Says:

@abraxus yeah, we give her a prescription diet. she’s our furry baby, so we treat her like a princess.

@ocb yeah, we didn’t go to a different vet, only because we have insurance with this one vet. But we wanted to though. :/

@danalyn yeah, the vet said to keep an eye on her pee. but she’s been good so far. no crystal, no thick pee. and on another note, you said “pee hole” that made me LOL!

@laura thanks, and yeah, we didn’t go to a different vet. she’s doing better now. :D

@poppy she’s doing so much better now thank you! :D

@daddy forever i know right, but we can’t just yet. for now we’ll keep with our current vet.

@kailani yeah, like danalyn said, they sure can. She’s doing better now though. :D

@komodo dragon she’s much better thanks! :D
