So I’ve been really considering getting a Samsung Instinct. I can get it cheaper than normal (about 130 bucks) but of course I’d have to renew my Sprint contract another year. For those of you who have one or know who has one, what do you think? Is it worth it? I mean honestly my current phone does everything I need now, I mean, it’s a phone, but is the Instinct that much cooler and does it actually work well?
Of course, this brings me to another point of should we switch carriers? Sprint so far has been pretty good and since me and Meesh are both sprint, all calls between us are free. And any sprint user is free. Although I have to say we only know a few people who are using Sprint/Nextel. Does anyone have other carriers to recommend? And don’t bother recommeding T-mobile.

I left Sprint for Cingular (now AT&T) because 1) they sucked, and 2) I didn’t have a company cell phone at the time, and the company I worked for was on Cingular…since I was always on the phone with someone from work while on the road!
I don’t know anything about that phone, but I hate Sprint…and that’s my $0.02 for the day. :P
I don’t know anything about the phone, but I had Sprint for a few years and they were OK, but then they merged with Nextel and I kept getting strange charges on my bill EVERY SINGLE MONTH that I would have to call and complain about. It’s like they were trying to pull shit over on me. So I paid the early termination fee and got the hell out. I went to Cingular (AT&T) and have been totally happy for the past 2.5 years.
@danalyn I can see how you hate sprint. I’ve not really had an issue with them.
@neptunebaby ok i can see how that would be an issue. I’ve not had an issue and I’ve been with sprint for over 10 years it seems.
While a lot of things about sprint are cool, I do like the rollover minutes that cingular has. we would have tons. hmmm something to think about. since iphone uses at&t…hmm.
Verizon. great network, decent prices, terrible customer service. I still highly recommend them.
It is hard to make a recommendation, because different carriers are better than others in different parts of the country. I have AT &T and the thing I like the best is that I can pop the sim card into whatever GSM phone I want at any time. I could use one phone during the week and then switch to a different one on the weekend, or whatever. If I had to take my phone somewhere- like the beach- where it could get damaged, I could just switch to my older crummy phone so I wouldn’t have to worry about it.
I have a Tilt, and it is my lifeline. It is not perfect, but it does a pretty darn good job.
I have no idea what to tell you. If I had a choice I would probably go with T-Mobile because Muse had really good luck with them.
Sprint pissed me off after the merger for mostly the same reasons as Neptunebaby said.
Unfortunately, to get my e-mail device and phone on the same device I have to use AT&T through work or pay for the device myself. So I’m trying to decide between getting the new iPhone or the Tilt.
Don’t know what to say except that I have an iPhone and I love it, my kids love it, and even Ben, who has to use a blackberry for work, is often using it. We’ve been happy with AT&T.
I’ve had Cingular/AT&T for about 3 years now and have an iPhone. I couldn’t be happier. I hated Sprint/Nextel with such a passion that I paid to get out of my contract!
I got my iPhone as a graduation gift last November and it’s been a love affair ever since.
