Happy Halloween

Well, it’s Halloween. Somehow it seems like this holiday has lost a lot of magic for me, mainly because I’m diabetic and I really, really loved the candy. But it doesn’t make this holiday any less fun in other ways. According to the wiki how to, the Sarah Palin halloween costume will be one of the most popular ones this year. I think that’s pretty funny. I’d like to see a bunch of Sarah Palins running around trick or treating. That might be pretty damn funny.

On a totally different note, over at girlrobot, I saw a most awesome and funny video, called “First Asian guy”. It’s a pretty well put together song about going out with your first asian guy. And as girlrobot point out, how hung up asian guys are on being so unpopular with non-asian women. Are we really that hung up? Probably. :P Not to mention, this guy is really very good. Video is after the bump!

Free for all Friday

No, not here. I forgot all about it. Over at Danalyn’s. She remembered that it’s free for all friday and opened it up. Meanwhile, I’ve forgotten all about it and hopefully I’ll remember it for next month. Although I have to admit, will people even be blogging on the day after Thanksgiving? Anyways, take a visit over there, make a post. You’ll most likely be reading a post from me there.

Also if you haven’t already, check out the web comic, A Little Scary. Tomorrow, (yes Halloween) you get to find out what Stan’s costume is. I don’t know about you but I’m highly anticipating it.

Yatta!

You know how in Japan they have really strange things in their pop culture? Yeah, well I know this is old but I was talking to Danalyn today and had to share with you this funny thing that just popped into conversation. I was telling her that for halloween, I plan on being Hiro from Heroes. I figure all I need is a sword and to go around saying “Yatta!” Which of course brought to mind, Happatai. So anyways, Danalyn sent me the “Yatta” song and I just had to watch the video again, and share with you, my lovely readers, this video. Video after the bump!

Yeah. I can fly.

So I was reading the news today and noticed this headline: Up to 50 Students exposed to HIV. First of all the headline is misleading because the issue is that up to 50 students MIGHT have been exposed to HIV. It seems to be more of a scare than anything else. I’m sure everyone in St. Louis I know probably knows a lot more than me, but wow, it’s still frightening. I mean it’s not like you can get HIV from someone just by touching them, or being around them. If that was the case, I’d have had AIDS or HIV long ago, since I’ve taken care of many people with HIV. They’re not disclosing who the person was, or how it could have been exposed, which I think is a good thing. But enough of that.

I haven’t posted in a while, and I guess I should at least make a lengthy post.

So today I was talking to ocB and she linked me to some sleepy time extra tea since I’ve been having problems sleeping and staying asleep. And we discovered a really cool thing. Notice the “save 15% with Subscribe & Save”? How cool is that? You can subscribe to a grocery item and they will send to you every so many months. How cool is that people? seriously now! Awesome!

Oh I know some of you are probably wondering what the hell I’m talking about with the title of this post. For those of you who didn’t see the movie Iron Man (and why haven’t you already OMG!) it’s one of my favorite lines in the movie. I loved that scene where he’s flying around in his lab and just says, “yeah. I can fly.” It just totally reminds me of the old Robert Downey Jr. in his old films. Love it.

Facebook, Myspace, and Plurk

So lately I’ve noticed a lot of activity in Facebook. I’m not entirely sure if it’s because I’ve been using it more lately, ever since I got my iPod touch, but there’s definitely been more activity. Namely, people I haven’t heard from in ages have been using facebook and found me. Is there a sudden surge in advertising for it? Has anyone noticed? I have to admit that I haven’t noticed anything going on but I can say I’m definitely using it more and more since I got my iPod touch. The facebook app really rocks!

Then there’s Myspace. I was talking to Jules the other day and she still uses Myspace mainly because of the music. Does that mean if facebook were to put some effort into getting better support for artists and bands, they’ll surpass Myspace? Who knows.

Jules also asked me about plurk. Do I have it? Yeah, I do. You can find my plurk timeline here. I can’t remember the last time I actually used it either. I still think that twitter trumps all of those programs like Pownce and Plurk. I do agree with Jules when she said that twitter is still lacking and it needs more. Perhaps they could get some of the features that Pownce has. But txt updates via phone are still it’s power I think. If you feel like following me on twitter, you can find me here.

What do you use? Twitter, pownce, facebook, myspace, etc?

Just a bit of levity for a moment here. My friend sent this to me and it’s just such a classic that I had to share it with you. This should please all lego, star wars, and Eddie Izzard fans alike. :P

Warcraft T-shirts

Warcraft T-Shirts @ A Little Scary – I don’t know about anyone else, but I will surely be getting the hunter t-shirt. That’s HILARIOUS!

Awkward

I want to post something, and I have so much to say, I just don’t know how I’m supposed to say it. For now I guess I just establish that I’m here in the universe, my health is better, and things are ok for now.
