TGIF

Today is the day that I am finally removing the perm catheter from my shoulder. To say that I’m grateful is an understatement. This means I’ll be able to take a REAL shower (instead of a semi shower and spongebath), the first one in about 6 months. This is such a relief. I’m so happy!

You may have noticed a somewhat new feature on the right sidebar. (the only sidebar lol) I’ve added a linkroll, which is Really my delicious.com bookmarks. It’s just a list of the latest 5 links I’ve found interesting. I’d like to say it’s something like girlrobots friday links, except it’s not only on friday and it’s not a post. Kinda like a quickie update. (Similar to my mini-posts I used to have) As for the miniposts, I’m working on getting those back. Because Really, the overheards are probably some of the funniest stuff I’ve read on here.

Speaking of Fridays, I plan to again open up Free For All Friday this month. If you don’t know what that is, it’s basically a chance for you to make a post on this site. What’s the big deal, right? Well, since FFAF is all about pimping your site, it’s a real good chance to get some links to your own site (or any site) and to also get some new readers. I’m working on the logistics of how to do it, and will keep you posted. (provided I remember!) Any wordpress users out there who have done FFAF please feel free to share with me how you do it. Do you create a special account? Or do you make everyone make their own account?

Region restricting games – ridiculous!

Cybr is having an issue with Valve and Steam. He purchased the Orange Box when he lived in Hong Kong, and back then, there was no indication that the game would not work anywhere outside of Hong Kong. Some people out there would say that he probably missed it or he didn’t find out if that was the case. However, if you say so, you don’t know cybr. He’s pretty anal about that stuff. He’s very meticulous when it comes to a lot of things not working. So I don’t doubt that the box didn’t have any indications that it was region specific.

Please help him out by making more people aware that the support at Valve and Steam are trying to get paid twice for a game. Please digg his story by digging it here. I just want to make people aware that Valve isn’t even trying to help him out. This may make me not ever buy a valve game again.

Are you OCD?

I know what you’re thinking. You can’t possibly be OCD right? Because you’re messy. But OCD doesn’t mean being a notorious clean freak. That’s not it. OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It means you are obsessive about a certain thing. It doesn’t necessarily mean cleanliness. Because that’s sure not me. I’ve calmed down quite a bit since I’ve been married to Meesh thank goodness. Here’s some examples of my OCDness before and now:

  • (before) All food boxes had to face the same way. I was Really obsessive about this. I would Totally organize my cabinets and everything would face the same way and be in categories. I sorted all my canned goods and boxed dry goods. Crazy I know
  • (somewhat now) Food can’t touch. I’ve Really calmed down on this one. But in general, you’ll see maybe 2 or 3 items on my plate because food on my plate cannot touch. Some foods (like corn and mashed potatoes) are ok to touch because they go well together. But I will freak out sometimes if food is touching.
  • (now) Before I cook anything in the kitchen, I must clean all the dishes. All the dishes should be cleaned anyways, but if there’s one thing that’s dirty, I will feel the need to clean it before I do any cooking. Strange right?
  • (now) Wet socks must die! I cannot stand wet socks. I will walk around barefoot on lava before I wear wet socks. That is just gross! Actually, this applies to all clothes. I hate wetness. And yes, ironically I hate being in the rain. But I love being in water like the pool or showers. I just hate wet clothes.

So those are just some of the OCD things I have. I have a few more but I’m just too lazy to list them. If laziness is OCD I’m definitely it.

Tell me your OCDness!

Ikemen Boogie

I always listen to music to cheer me up or to make me in a better mood. So I thought I’d share a song that always lifts me up and puts me in a good mood. It’s from a Japanese dorama called Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Ikemen Paradise). It’s a dorama where Horikita Maki poses as a boy to go to an all boys school. Similar to She’s the Man with Amanda Bynes. The song is called Ikemen Boogie.

I’ve been wondering…

If I get drunk before I go to Dialysis, will dialysis sober me up? Has anyone tried this out? I know it would be Really rude to go into dialysis drunk but I’m just curious lol. I know it cleans me up of anesthesia and pain meds. I’ve already experienced that. Any thoughts?

Shiroi Haru

shiroi-haruSo this spring season of Japanese television, my choice of dorama is definitely Shiroi Haru with Abe Hiroshi. It’s a real touching story about a man who commits murder and goes to jail, so his girlfriend can get the money to cure her illness. In the end, he finds that she passed away instead and wondering what happened to his money, he finds out more than he probably cared to know. Without giving too much of the story away, this story is very touching. Although he did kill a man, Haruo (Abe Hiroshi) is not an evil man. He committed the murder out of need to help his girlfriend and sacrifice so she could find a better life. I’m Really loving the story myself. It’s just incredible.

Things I wish WordPress did natively

You know, as much as I like WordPress, there are some things to me that should just natively be part of it without having to add plugins. IMHO, plugins are overhead and well, if they could be implemented natively into the code I just think things would flow a lot better. One thing was just recently, which is to make a post “sticky”. This was such an about time thing that I am hoping they implement the other things in the future:

  1. Subscribing to comments via email. I know that in many cases this is not desirable. Especially on high traffic sites where you get over a 100 comments in a day. However, if there was an option for it, I would just love that instead of having to have a plugin to do it. Also, natively having this I think would make management so much easier.
  2. Support for Multiple blogs. Honestly. This would put the nail in a lot of other CMS/Blogging tools. If this was possible, then I would be a very happy man. Let me explain. Supporting multiple blogs would entail one admin control panel being able to post to any number of websites. Please, this should happen.
  3. Top Commentators widget. I use this on hello! yoshi, and I love it. But I think it should be something that’s native. Part of a stats widget if you will. I think this would be awesome.
  4. Polls. I think polls should be included. I know it’s Really an unnecessary thing but perhaps you can have it load/not load as a preference.
  5. Rating/Karma. Finally, I think some kind of comment and entry rating system should exist. Again, if you didn’t want it, you could disable it and it wouldn’t load.

So there you have it. Do you have anything you’d like to add to the list? Or perhaps you want to say that there is no need to add them because the plugin works fine and doesn’t require much. Let me know your opinions!

I was lost, but will I ever be found

Ok, so one of the next movies I think I might either have to check out or possibly could miss is Land of the Lost with Will Ferrell. I’m a real big fan of the original show, and I Totally loved it. It just seems that they’re Really changing the story and I’m not sure how I feel about that just yet. It certainly looks Really funny and pretty good. But as we all know, looks can sometimes be deceiving, especially when it comes to Will Ferrell movies. Trailer video after the bump.

Speaking of movies…

There’s a couple of movies that I Totally missed. One of them is Dragonball Evolution, the live action version with Chow Yun Fat. Perhaps you’ve seen the trailer? (video after the bump) It probably wasn’t welcomed by the critics at all, and I know it was probably pretty cheesy, but you know, I just wanted to go see it because, well it’s dragonball. :P

Another one is Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. Now this one I’m sure was cheesy to no end. But I still want to see it. I love Street Fighter, and even though the Jean Claude Van Damme on was pretty bad, I still liked it. I’ll be sure to pick these movies up as rentals. Has anyone seen them already?
