Ok, so I finally got around to finishing the book. It was a pretty easy read and I’m almost glad I’m done with it so I can finally see the movie (no, I haven’t watched it yet) and to get to the other books. There are spoilers here so I will tell you to stop reading unless you have no intentions of reading the book ever and just want to spoil it all. I will at least tell you that I give it a 4 out of 5 stars, and if you’re into urban fantasy type books, then you should probably read this book.
First of all, I was rather put off my the idea that the vampires “sparkled”. Ok, I knew this before I read the book and was really skeptical. Until I read the book. Ok, it totally makes sense now. And Meesh just added a few other things, such as “The Cold Ones”, that’s makes even more sense. Sparkling in the sun like diamonds and being cold as ice totally makes sense. The whole fact they are not harmed by the sun but simply avoid it to not get suspicion is pretty cool. This is how legends are born. Why are vampires afraid of the sun anyways?
The whole mythology of the indian tribes in the olympic peninsula not wanting the Cullens to go into their territory? Awesome. I was already loving the story of their origins and them being descendants of wolves. totally made me love it more. I’m such a wolf fanatic. It totally makes me want to be sure to read the next book since it obviously has them in it.
I was also a bit skeptical about vampires in high school. I mean how long can you stay in a town where you have to go to high school then graduate? That’s just a bit crazy but I can now see it’s not that crazy of an idea. And being 17 forever doesn’t sound like an easy task either. I’m glad I graduated from high school. Poor Edward probably had to do that a few times. Frightening.
All in all, I think the book was well written and very easy to read. Kudoes to Stephanie Meyers. Love it! Now off to the rest of the books.

You’ll love one particular part in the movie then Yoshi, that is all I will say about it. I did enjoy the books myself. I even liked book 4 which makes me something of an outcast in the Fan Community.
Yeah I heard book 4 was from a different POV. We’ll see how that goes. So far I’m loving New Moon.
Me and my husband just now:
Me: HEY I just read a review by a guy blogger I know who read Twilight and he loved it!
Him: Is he gay?
Me: NO HE IS NOT GAY
Yeah, I think I’ll never get him to read it. He’s one of those no girlie books and movies must all be about tits and guns. Ugh.
Hhahaha I consider twilight as a harry potter of vampire books too. this isn’t even adult fiction. but i can totally get where he’s coming from. I used to be like that too, until I actually read something. LOL
LOL well you can add me to the list of guys who read it and enjoyed it as well then. My wife is pretty sure I am not gay also :)
