I’ve completed New Moon, the 2nd book in the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. There are spoilers beyond the bump, so if you haven’t read them (who hasn’t, right?) and don’t want to get any spoilers, don’t go beyond!
Ok, first of all, this was my least favorite book. To me, the only that saved it was Jacob and the whole pack of the werewolves. I have to admit that the trailer scene when Laurent goes after Bella and Jake changes is awesome. But if they had followed the book faithfully, I think it would have been awesome. Although I have to admit that it could easily have some editing. There’s nothing to say that the scene in the trailer was consecutive. I’m hoping that she does see the wolves come out of the forest and chase after Laurent. Because in my mind, that was so cool.
I loved the whole Italy thing, definitely cool to learn there are some vampire families that are trying to keep order. And meeting them, was pretty intense.
Now to why it’s my least favorite book so far. This book Bella just whined and complained and whine and complained. Ugh. I realize that she’s being a teenager, but honestly, did it take half the book to say that? I really don’t think so. Boo hoo, I’m so sorry but come on, I think we could have lived without half that book.
Otherwise, I thought the story was awesome and I’m looking forward to seeing the movie. Of course, it might help if I actually saw the first one too.

I liked New Moon but it wasn’t my favorite of the 4 (not sure which would be tbh). I believe the scene in the movie with Laurent is going to be a fight between Jacob and Laurent rather than the pack taking him down. It sucks when they don’t follow the book but I can see why that would be more appealing film-wise.
She does whine a lot in the book but I think it’s an attempt to get the point across about just how completely miserable and useless she is without Edward.
Twilight & Eclipse were my favorites out of the four books. Still looking forward to the New Moon movie though.
Amen Brother Yoshi! Crybaby Bella was just too over the top in Book II for me. I spent most of the book dreading any opportunity Bella had to reflect on the whole “Woe is me” thing. Aside from that my only issue was the Werewolf Pack’s first appearance. These Werewolves are massive by their description yet Bella thinks nothing of a Wolf the size of a Horse wandering past her? I know she’s seen Vampires and such..but c’mon..if a Wolf the size of a Minivan came anywhere near me the last thing I would be is calm.
I saw the Trailer for New Moon, loved the Exploding Wolf thing. Very happy they got that to look good.
