Yeah that's the unfortunate thing. they could make me wait for six hours if they were that busy. I have to see a doctor when I have the clinic. That's the thing that gets me. I have no choice but to wait. That's nuts.

I would wait because you came all that way and given the nature of the appt. but if it was just a regular doctors appointment, I would start pitching a fit. Sometimes if that doesn't work, I start downloading ring tones and playing them. That gets them moving!

Hey Yoshi!

It all depends - is my two year old with me and what kind of mood is she in? Or maybe she's at home and daddy is taking care of her. If that's the case then waiting in a waiting room for hours without a moody toddler is almost equivalent to being in a spa. ;) If I did have an iphone then it would be heaven. lol

because it's such a regular occurrence at that clinic, complaining probably wouldn't help i think. but it still irks me.

to pass the time, I've got my iphone and my kindle to help me out there. they really help out so much. in fact i don't know how i lived without my iphone. the kindle is such a space saver too. and doesn't kill trees, that's a good thing.

That's about how long I have to wait when I have a follow-up with my bariatric surgeon -- but those appointments are now 6 months apart, not weekly. If you're coming in that often, they should be able to better accommodate you. I know it's not the dr's fault -- they could have a patient who takes way longer than anticipated -- but the office staff should know how many patients can be seen without an obscene wait time for everyone. Sorry you have to deal with that! And how awesome that your lovely wife goes with you every week. Good to have a "team." Have you taken up knitting or cross stitching to pass the time? :)

I'd wait the two hours, but I would most certainly let my displeasure be known. You are right, there is a certain expectation that comes with having an appointment that you are perfectly within your rights to expect to see the person for whom you have scheduled your time promptly.

Doctors are busy people, emergencies comes first etc etc, no one can deny that but a Doctor should expect to have angry people waiting for him and not have a problem with it if things like a two hour wait happen.

What really chaps my hide..is when someone shows up past their Appointed time and still gets in when others have taken the care to show up early for their own. That pisses me off to no end and I have seen it happen many many times in my years.
