Who will be the Next Iron Chef?
I’m sure this is the question that’s going on in a lot of people’s heads that are watching the Food Network show, “The Next Iron Chef“. What started out as 10 has now been trimmed down to 2 finalists. It’s been a grueling and long journey for all of them, and for those who have finally come to Kitchen Stadium to battle it out, and cook the best meal they’ve ever cooked, I applaud you. Well…not Really.
Here’s where I say there are spoilers and if you are watching the show on DVR or whatever, this is the point to turn back. The rest of this article after the bump.
Why I love my Keurig Coffee Maker
So for my birthday this past week, my wife bought me one of the best inventions ever. A Keurig Coffee Maker. I don’t often drink a bunch of coffee, so a single cup coffee maker is perfect for me. Sometimes I might drink 2 cups, but never more than that. I can’t justify brewing up 10 cups of coffee just for me. If there were another person who drank coffee in the house, it would work. But for now, the coffee maker just sits next to the Keurig, with the dunkin donuts coffee on top of it, waiting for me to get a hankering for DD coffee. Now that I think of it, I got that coffee maker from Joelle. It’s gotta be worth something right? She’s like a celebrity now. LOL
Anyways, why do I love the Keurig coffee maker? It makes perfect portioned coffee every time. Although I do have to say that my cups must be a bit bigger than the “standard” since it doesn’t fill it to the rim. But that’s ok. It also makes it the perfect temperature. Seriously. I know some people like their coffee scalding hot, but I’m certainly not one of them. While I like it hot, I don’t like it when it’s about as hot as the sun. I don’t need to burn my tongue drinking a good cup of joe. But the Keurig makes it just right. Another reason is the choices. There are plenty of K-cup manufacturers out there. And if you can’t find one that you like, you can also buy a re-usable K-cup. That way you can use your own preferred cup of coffee. Awesome right? I thought so too.
I’m so grateful to have a wife that bought me one of the best birthday presents ever. She’s pretty awesome too.

Happy Birthday USMC and Happy Veterans Day
I wanted to wish a Happy Birthday to the Marine Corps and Happy Veteran’s Day. I want to wish a thanks to all the men and women of the US Armed Forces. I Really appreciate everything you guys and gals do for us. As a Navy Corpsman I have an inkling of what you go through everyday.

10 WordPress Plugins I can't live without
How many times has this post been made on numerous sites? There are countless number of them out there. I couldn’t even imagine how many there are. But I’m gonna post this anyways, because these are the plugins that I personally could not live without on any of my WordPress sites.
- After the Deadline. If you’re like me and don’t have perfect grammar, then this plugin is definitely for you. Not only does it check for spelling errors but does a pretty damn good job.
- All in one SEO Pack. This plugin does a Really good job at making most of your SEO ready. It doesn’t do everything for you, but it does enough in my opinion. This is a must for every site.
- Now Reading Reloaded. This plugin isn’t for everybody, since it’s a plugin that keeps track of the books that you’ve read. However for those who want to keep track and show the books they’ve read, this is probably one of the best plugins I’ve seen out there. It has customizable templates and a widget to display the books on the sidebar.
- Subscribe to Comments. This is something that should be built into WordPress in my opinion. But, what can you do, so this plugin works. This plugin allows you to opt in to receive emails when a new comment has been posted on a post you’ve commented on. Definitely should be built in.
- Text Replace. This plugin will search through your posts and replace it with something else which you specify. I use this plugin to replace the names of friends to links to their website or set acronyms for certain words. I definitely recommend it.
- WordPress Mobile Edition. This is a great plugin to easily make your site view-friendly to mobile phones. I recommend it because everyone should have a mobile version of their site without having to do their own browser checking.
- WP-Polls. For polls to attach to your sidebar (with a widget) or posts, this is by far the best plugin I have ever seen. You should be using this if you have polls.
- WP Ajax Edit Comments. I like to have my users able to edit their comments just in case they made some grammar errors or perhaps they forgot to mention something else. So without having to enter another comment, this allows them to edit their comments without leaving the page. Very useful plugin for admins as well since you can easily edit comments on the comment page.
- WP lightbox 2. This plugin automatically puts your linked images in your posts as lightbox style images. You know, the method where it blacks out the page and displays the image only without having to leave the page. Very cool effect.
- WPtouch iPhone theme. This plugin, like the mobile edition plugin, will display a different version of your site, completely customizable for iPhone, iPod touch, and touch screen type phones. This is the same thing that is used on wordpress.com. I love it!
It's November again…
Wow is it November again already? While I love November for the obvious reasons (it’s my birthday month), I do love November for the change in the weather and all the food we get to eat for Thanksgiving. I’ve gotta make sure to load up on some insulin that day. It just seems like yesterday when it was November. This has definitely been an amazing year and a half. But here we are, coming up on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Wow, honestly I do love the holidays. This year however, might be a bit different. We shall see how this year goes. I’m not exactly sure what is going on for Thanksgiving itself, but if nothing else is Really planned, I hope to prepare to make the Thanksgiving meal this year. I don’t remember what we did last year, but I’m pretty sure the year before that, I prepared the meal and it was just Meesh’s parents and us. If I do prepare the meal, I better start planning soon.
