Kitchen Boss

So lately, my new obsession has been Kitchen Boss. Yes, it’s a spin off of the show Cake Boss, with Buddy Valastro. Basically, in old school fashion, Buddy cooks in his TV kitchen various goodies that he grew up eating. Lots of pasta, lots of Italian favorites. I’m liking it because it’s old school cooking show with a blend of the new school. What I mean by this is he just simply cooks and refers you to the website to get the recipes. He shows you how to do it, and you get some instructions and tips on the screen, but it’s not exact. I like this type of cooking show because it’s exactly what it says it is. A show about cooking. It’s not about marketing or how to set up your kitchen or how to set up your dining table. If I wanted all that, I’d watch Martha Stewart.

Also, it might have something to do with the fact that Buddy is from Hoboken, NJ and I just enjoy hearing the heavy Jersey accent because it reminds me of “home”. I will always be a Jersey boy at heart.

In other news, I was planning on doing some giveaways, and was wondering if there were any readers (besides the spammer and bots) that could give me some guidance on this. I’ve been wanting to officially start a reviewing process as well. But without anything to review, I’m at a loss. I’m considering technology and kitchen related items. Actually I’m thinking a different approach for anything kitchen wise. It’s a (not so) top secret project I’m working on with Katie. But we’ll get to that in the future. Meanwhile, any people out there willing to give me some leads or tips and tricks?

The Balentine’s day aftermath

So what happened on Balentine’s day? Not much Really, we’re not Really big on celebrating the Hallmark holiday ourselves. But I have to pamper Meesh, because you know she deserves it. Anyways, I got her some diamond earrings, nothing major, but they were pretty cool, black diamonds. I also got her some flowers, because it doesn’t seem right to not send her any flowers. I chose a bouquet that came with a plush monkey, because we give each other plush animals all the time. It’s almost like a competition with us.

Here’s the funny thing, she also got me some flowers, but these were made of balloons! Balloon flowers! But around the balloon flowers, she had ordered them with love monkeys! How coincidental is that? Are we meant for each other or what? Either that, or we’re connected on the same brainwave. LOL either way, it was a pretty good Balentine’s day. Of course, I did get the plush Darth Vader as well. She gave me some Ferrero Rocher Chocolate too. Good stuff.

Happy Balentine’s Day 2011!

First of all, let me just say I can’t believe it’s 2011 already. You know, my dad gave me a bit of wisdom one day, and told me that time goes by faster the older you get. Boy was he right. It just seems like it goes by crazy fast.

Anyhoo…

You’re probably wondering if I typo-ed the title of this post by saying Balentine’s instead of Valentine’s. Nope. It’s quite right. I did it that way in honor of my wife’s family. Her name is Balentine. So today is in honor of her family! Imagine that, right?

Well anyways, I hope you have fun on this Hallmark holiday. We all know it’s just an excuse for the card companies to come up with new ideas on how to make money. Most of us just eat it up. But it’s ok, Meesh deserves some pampering. She’ll get it too, because I’m about as cheesy as they come. She will have to let you know what I got her for Valentine’s day. Nothing major, Really.

Oh, and take a look at what she gave me! She knows me so well. Just call me Darth Yoshi. It came with some heart candies too. But they’re all gone now.

“You don’t know the power of the dark side!”

Happy Balentine’s day!

As seen on TV addiction

Did I mention that I am addicted to anything “As seen on TV”? Yes, I am. I just recently purchased the Gyro Bowl and the Chef Basket. I Seriously think I could use these products! I know that I still have the Ninja Kitchen System to review too. That’s still on it’s way, I want to use it a bit more. I’ve only mixed a couple things with it. I haven’t made any drinks yet though.

Anyways the Gyro Bowl is just a challenge to me. Also I’d like to point out that with my Seriously horrible sense of balance, it’s very ideal for me. Even Meesh said that it was definitely for me. So we’ll see how that works out.

The Chef Basket looks to be something I would definitely use. I already have the steamers, and the strainers, but this looks like it could easily take all their places. Again, we’ll see how it goes.

So I’ve ordered these products maybe a couple weeks ago, so I’m expecting them to show up any day now. I hope to have a whole bunch of reviews!
