Perhaps you remember the video where I show people how to eat ramen? I thought I’d revive it again, and plus take a poll on how you eat ramen or somen (cold soba noodles). I just wonder how many of you slurp when you eat your ramen. While so many people might consider this rude, because of cultural differences, it’s not entirely so rude in Japan. I do want to point out that you probably don’t need to be obnoxiously loud, or purposely loud when slurping. There’s a difference in eating the ramen and just plain being rude (i.e. mocking). We don’t need that! Of course, in your own home, you can do anything you want. I just want to point out this is in public. Here’s the video:
Finally, here’s a poll you can vote on whether or not you slurp when eating your ramen.
Do Asians hate Asian-Americans? – This is pretty interesting. While I don’t agree with everything, it’s all a matter of perspective, I think.
Reviewed: Gyrobowl – Over at It’s Tasty, I’ve reviewed the Gyrobowl, the bowl that never spills. Check it out!
So this will be a classic “bulleted post” about things. The picture Really has nothing to do with this post, it’s a random picture that just showed up.
Happy Birthday to my one and only true love, Meesh! She’s 29 this year, so give her a great birthday wish if you can. Hopefully she can put up with another year of me, and all the chaos and craziness that surrounds me.
I wish this was the real cake I am giving her, but alas it isn’t. I’m not even sure what to do for dinner. Technically, she’ll probably want her favorite (that I know of, anyway) of Spamâ„¢, eggs and rice. With a side of seaweed and possibly miso soup. Sounds like a good meal to me!
US Military blocks websites to help Japan recovery efforts – I noticed that Facebook isn’t listed in the sites. I’d imagine it’s a big bandwidth stealer. I suppose you could keep it to let people keep in touch with their families.
Not all chronic pancreatitis related to alcohol abuse – Interesting. I’m just glad I don’t have Chronic Pancreatitis. I would never wish this on anyone.
