How do you eat ramen?

Perhaps you remember the video where I show people how to eat ramen? I thought I’d revive it again, and plus take a poll on how you eat ramen or somen (cold soba noodles). I just wonder how many of you slurp when you eat your ramen. While so many people might consider this rude, because of cultural differences, it’s not entirely so rude in Japan. I do want to point out that you probably don’t need to be obnoxiously loud, or purposely loud when slurping. There’s a difference in eating the ramen and just plain being rude (i.e. mocking). We don’t need that! Of course, in your own home, you can do anything you want. I just want to point out this is in public. Here’s the video:

      • But have you tried it? I mean I did try your ramen, its only fair. For scientific purposes and all.

        • Braden is making Ramen right now, and putting Taco Bell sauce in it. Does my family make you cringe? haha.

          • Taco bell sauce in ramen wouldn't be so bad. It's probably comparable to Kimchee ramen really. Spicy ramen.

        • Actually let's be true here. What you're eating is not ramen with sour cream. It's noodles with sour cream. You don't drink the broth. without the broth, Ramen is simply noodles. Ramen isn't noodles, it's the noodles with soup. So you're comparing apples to oranges. and yes, I've tried it, and well spaghetti with sour cream isn't bad. But Ramen with sour cream? it's utterly nasty.

          • You're right. I pour the broth out. I don't like my food that juicy. It will just end up on my shirt. ( I had spaghetti with sour cream last night! )

  2. I eat mine with a fork and I coil it up like spaghetti. I'm such an American. So no, I don't slurp.
