About

Just who is Yoshi anyways? This is a tough question. Honestly, because he’s a very complex person. Let’s just suffice it to say that he is certainly not a green dinosaur that runs around eating everything. Although he does eat quite a bit.

Timeline (This idea was stolen from Jess)

  • 1968 : I was born.
  • 1973 : Started kindergarten, realized that all the kids weren’t speaking Japanese anymore, and discovered that I actually moved to the Philippines. I started speaking English then.
  • 1977 : Watched Star Wars, my life was changed. Read Sword of Shannara, my life was changed even more. The beginnings of a true geek.
  • 1983 : Watched The Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader (and James Earl Jones) becomes my hero.
  • 1984 : Watched The Terminator, re-discovered Arnold Schwarzenegger. I’ll be back.
  • 1985 : Started working at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ. Realized that aMusement parks are not the magical kingdoms they make them out to be. Learn that choosing Foods as a department did not mean happy times eating a lot.
  • 1986 : Graduated from High School, and kept working at Six Flags
  • 1988 : Graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute, got a job building computers, the geek dom strengthens.
  • 1991 : Got tired of computers, quit all my jobs and joined the Navy. Became a Hospital Corpsman, aka “doc”. Went to my first duty station of Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, IL.
  • 1993 : With a great aversion to doing sea duty, chose to go overseas to a Marine Corps Air Station, one named MCAS Iwakuni. Loved it there.
  • 1995 : With a heavy heart I left Japan, to come back to live in NJ once again, raiding my parents house, causing my parent grief.
  • 1997 : Got tired of NJ, decided to move to Southern California. Also in this year, opened my first website, validus.com. This domain is long gone now, and I’ve sold it off.’
  • 1998 : For crazy reasons, I decided to move to St. Louis, MO. I know, a big drastic change.
  • 2000 : Created psychodaisy.com and shifted my blog from validus.com to psychodaisy.com.
  • 2002 : Met Meesh through a friend, and we started talking.
  • 2003 : Fell in love and decided to move to Washington State.
  • 2004 : Proposed to Meesh, and we decided to set a date. June 25th, 2005. Consequently, this date happens to be the same date that the couple in the movie “Elizabethtown” got married. And more than that, we also had the clicking pens that showed the date. We never saw this movie until much later. Meant to be? I think so. Oh, and the movie is by Cameron Crowe, one of my most favourite directors/writers. (Aside from David Lynch)
  • 2005 : Married Meesh in a somewhat larger than we thought it would be wedding, and I got to see some of my dear friends again: cybr, Tiggerprr, HK Muse, Bick, and my Best Man, Jeff (who doesn’t have a website, though he should I think.).
  • 2006 : This blog was created. Many things happened. If you want to know what, feel free to read the blog. :P
  • 2007 : This timeline was created and this design came into being. Officially now a survivor of 2 Blogathons.
  • 2008: A year I will never forget. July 13th, 2008, about 11:30pm, I had a stroke. I went to the ER with my mom, because Meesh was away on fire duty in Eastern Washington. And so started my night of Hell and having the fear of dying. Finally recovered 99%, but was notified by my nephrologist I now had end stage kidney disease. I needed either a transplant, or dialysis. The hope was to get a transplant before I needed dialysis. I ended up getting a Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter inserted in my belly. A very very disturbing thing having a tube sticking out of my stomach.
  • 2009: Got an infection in my PD catheter, got it removed, got a “permcath” inserted in my shoulder/neck. According to my surgeon, “holy crap it’s the size of a pencil! It’s huge! It’s like someone stuck a pencil in your neck!” Started Hemodialysis. Finally got news that my sister was a match for a new kidney. We start plans to go through with the transplant. July 29th, 2009, my sister and I go to the hospital, specifically the University of Washington Medical Center and commenced with the kidney transplant. So far, I am recovering very well.

Too many folks have asked me if I have a wish list. Well, finally, I decided to share it: Amazon Wish-list
