No, that’s not a typo folks. That’s right, they’re coming out with a new game, called “World of World of Warcraft”! It’s where you get to play as a player who is playing World of Warcraft. With all the superhero type movies and such and action packed movies coming out this summer, I almost feel like a lot of folks are forgetting about Hellboy 2. If you weren’t aware of the sequel, this time Ron Perlman is back again as Hellboy and it looks like most of the roles are reprised. Doug Jones is playing Abe Sapien and Selma Blair is back as Liz. It looks pretty good. Guillermo del Toro is back again directing the movie so this is good. I know he won’t mess it up. Trailer is after the bump.

Last Friends is a Japanese dorama about life in today’s society. It’s about a young girl named Michiru who finds herself in love with a great young man and moves in with him, only to find that he’s a very possessive and jealous type. He is also very prone to violence. She soon becomes a victim of domestic violence, and finds herself a bit lost. Of course, on the outside, he acts very nice and can be very charming. He’s also very kind and very caring towards her. However, if she angers him, or does something that makes him angry, he is very quick to hit her.

At the same time, one of Michiru’s old schoolmates, Ruka, finds her after so many years of not talking to each other. You can tell that Ruka might be in love with Michiru, but there’s something that Ruka is hiding from everyone. No one really knows what’s going on with her. Of course, Michiru’s boyfriend finds out about Ruka and gets unnecessarily jealous. What follows is a dorama about friends and the things that happen in their lives.

I still have a hard time watching this dorama. I’m very against domestic violence, and I for one have a hard time tolerating it. I get really upset watching this show, but it does have some favourite actors/actresses like Ueno Juri, Mizukawa Asumi, and Eita of Nodame Cantabile fame. And you should know I watch a lot of dorama because of the people in it, as well as what it’s about. But honestly, even the favourite actors/actresses are making it tough. I think it’s just because when I see what’s happening in the show, it just really pisses me off. I know it’s not real, I mean seriously, it’s a TV show, right? But it’s the fact that I know there are so many issues of domestic violence out there. seriously. Too many. Things like this should never happen. No one should be trapped within a relationship and have to take any amount of abuse. Ever. seriously. If I ever hit Meesh, I would never be able to forgive myself. Ever.

But I digress. The dorama is about friendship, and the power of friendship. There are plenty of lessons to be learned here. The bond of friendship is strong. But the bond of love is strong too. Which wins in the end?

So one of the doramas I’m watching this season is Hokaben. It stars Ueto Aya as a young hopeful lawyer who wants to be the savior of the weak. Her idea of what lawyers are is perhaps a bit naive, but I like to see some hope in the world. Normally, I don’t watch lawyer shows, but this turned out to be pretty interesting.

The first case of the show, which starts as a divorce case turns out to become a domestic violence issue and then to a child molestation case. It peaked my interest for sure because I seriously wanted to see the father/husband rot in jail or burn at the stake. But seriously, this could become a pretty good dorama, even if Ueto Aya isn’t being all cutesy. This is good for her, since it’s a serious role. I like her like that.

What dorama do you watch?

Ok, can someone shed some light on this for me? Yes, I understand the concept of Second Life. It’s like an interactive world where you can chat and hang out with your friends inside a 3D world. Yeah, it looks cool. But what I’m really not understanding is pretty simple. What’s the goal of this? I don’t know why, but I just have this overwhelming urge to understand Second Life.

Now, honestly, I understand that you can set up shop, you can actually make real money from the game by selling goods, such as clothes (for within the game) and I guess there are other ways to make money, but I’m just not talented enough for that. I’ve explored a small part of the world, and I’ve even tried to participate with the whole CSI:NY mystery. Which was really cool btw. Although I didn’t get very far.

I guess because I don’t know anyone inside Second Life, so it’s a bit tougher. I don’t make friends in those things too easy, only because there are so many jokers and losers out there who try to ruin the game for you. (ala World of Warcraft) But I digress.

There is also some humour out there too: Get a First Life. Now that is just hilarious. Go ahead, the link is real. It’s only one page.

So can someone help me out with Second Life? Should I just stick with my First Life?

You may recall that last Sunday, I bought Meesh her own PSP. I knew she wanted one and she’s been playing Untold Legends for a while now. She loves it. But I digress.

After Abraxus had alerted me that Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core was out for the PSP, I was all over that. I’ve been playing that for a little bit, and yeah, I’m loving it. I haven’t really made it far, but I’m getting there. I almost feel like I need to get the strategy to make sure I’m unlocking everything that I can unlock. This is definitely a lot of fun!

It also reminds me that I need to get around to finishing Final Fantasy XII for the PS2. I have the strategy guide for that, and I’m thinking I really need to start all over again to make sure I get everything I could get. Why oh why does Final Fantasy seem to take up so much of my time?

Ok, so I have to admit that I love Ueto Aya. If you didn’t know, she’s a japanese actress and j-pop artist, who has been in quite a few Japanese dorama. If she’s in it, I’ll watch it. But that’s how I watch most of my dorama. The latest I saw her in was Abarenbo Mama where she is a rather young and newly become step mother, where she proves herself to be quite capable of being a mom. Very cute dorama.

I just watched the Attention Please special, where they go to Australia. Very good special. I love it when they do specials of doramas I like. But I was just reminded how cute she is! I just love the ending theme, Pretty Woman (originally by Roy Orbison) performed by Kimura Kaela, a great J-pop artist. I love her version of this song. Plus the ending credits show Ueto Aya’s character wearing different CA (cabin attendant) uniforms in it. Pretty neat. Video after the bump!

Perhaps not all of you are aware that I’m partaking in a writing experiment known as This Is AWE: A Writing Experiment. Basically what’s happening here is quite simple. Each writer (of which there are 25) writes one word of the story. No writer may contribute two words in a row, and the time limit for contributing is around 5 hours. So far, I think it’s been kinda interesting. At first I thought it would take a while for anything to develop, but sure enough, it’s been developing quite well and fast!

I’ve been trying to get my writing skills improved, and this is just one way to do it. Plus it sounded really interesting! If you’re interested in reading any of my own writing, then you can try visiting these sites:

So last night, we hit the 4th Ave Tav to go see a friend’s band. They’re called Sweet Jungle of Paradise. You see how they incorporated all the favourite songs in there? I noticed you noticing.

We knew they were a Guns ‘n Roses tribute band, so we were looking forward to hearing how good they were. We just didn’t know that they actually got dressed up just like the band! It was awesome! They did a great performance and played all the faves. If you’re in the Seattle/Tacoma area, you should definitely check them out!

This morning, we’re still recovering from the loud music. It’s been a while since we last been to the 4th Ave Tav to see a band. (probably like 2 years or so) There was much fun to be had!
