Donations for loved ones

As most or all of you might know, my dear friend Tiggerprr’s (Ammy) husband (Ken Theobald)  just recently passed away. Surviving him are my friend and 3 of their children. Times are tough. Medical bills pile up. They could use your help. Without Ken, they now have no benefits, and must pay out of pocket for their medical expenses. Let’s not forget about food and housing. I know times are tough for everyone. But it’s harder for them. Please find it in your heart to give even a $1 to help them out. If all my visitors donated a $1, then she’d receive $5 but that’s besides the point.

Honestly though, all joking aside, they could really use the help. Please use the donate button on the right sidebar to give whatever you can give. Please spread the word as well. Feel free to link to this post or to the donate button. Please help out!

2009 flood damage

I’m sure you’ve all heard about the crazy flooding that’s been going on around here in Washington. The damage it has caused has been insanely crazy. It only reminds me of the 2007 flood, although from what I understand it was no where near as bad as that. They did indeed close down I-5, and if you’re from this area, you’d know that I-5 is a major way to get from Portland to Seattle, or well anywhere, going north and south. It’s a big deal. Let me put it to you this way: I was supposed to get some medical goods from Portland, but since I-5 was closed, they couldn’t deliver it. The driver simply had no way to get to me except via a super roundabout way, which would take the driver perhaps 3 or 4 hours out of the way. That’s crazy. Now for the real thing. Some actual pictures from I-90, Snoqualmie pass. Thankfully I’m no where near either of these places! (And who knew that WA DOT had a flickr page?)

Legislative BuildingClick thumbnail to view a larger image

I was considering a lot of different types of scenarios for the theme this week, but I finally settled on this one, since I couldn’t find what I really wanted. This is the Legislative Building in Olympia. The columns really fascinated me for some reason or another. I really love going to the Capitol Campus to take pictures.

Wenatchee cloudsClick thumbnail to view a larger image

Last year I took a trip out to Wenatchee because Meesh was out there working on fire dispatch, and I took this at the hotel that she was staying at. I love the cloud formations. Very cool. You can see the sun trying to take over and making the shot a bit too bright in that area.

Narada Falls, Mt. Rainier

My sister and I went up to Mt. Rainier this week, and went to Narada Falls, which is on the way up to Paradise. The water was flowing pretty good, and we were getting sprayed on while I took this photo. Lots of fun!

Snow at Mt. Rainier

So this week, my sister and I went up to Mt. Rainier. There was snow. It was insane. I would have never imagined walking in the snow in the middle of June.
