So last night, my powerbook started making funny sounds. So I shut it down, and started it back up. I left to get something to drink, and when I got back, the screen was black. OK. I tried to make sure the brightness on the screen was turned up. Nope. But wait, I can hear the volume going up and down if I adjusted it. The caps lock button was working. The computer was on, but the display just died. totally died. I hooked up an external monitor and it works fine. I guess after 5 or 6 years, it’s done with. Yes, I have one of the original Titanium Powerbooks. It’s old, and it still works (I’m making this post with it after all!) but what use is a laptop without the use of the screen? I might as well call it a very expensive Mac Mini.
