If you didn’t know already, today is Meesh’s birthday. Why not go on over to her site and wish her a Happy Birthday? She’s going to be 29 years old! I just don’t know how I got so lucky to be with a girl like her. She’s my anchor and my strength. I literally don’t know what I’d do without her. I consider myself very lucky and very fortunate. Happy Birthday honey!

So this year for my birthday/christmas gift, my mom got me an Amazon Kindle. Now I must say that it has not changed how I read books. I mean there are still special things like hidden short stories at the end of a book edition that I have to get. But I will tell you that wow, it’s really awesome and easy to read.
As promised, the kindle reads exactly like a book, and it even auto advances the pages for you. (although the timing in this still needs some work.) Even if it didn’t advance the pages automatically for you, it’s still so very easy to flip to the next page. No more fumbling with the pages anymore. This also means you don’t have to actually hold the kindle too! No more worrying about how to hold down the pages while you eat. (which I do a lot)
The kindle is awesome. But what you have to watch out for is the price of books. Some books are priced very well, but newer books can be priced as high as a cheap hardcover. So you really need to watch out. It’s so very easy to rack up the dollars when buying books! With one touch, you can just buy a book, just like that. Luckily, if you did make a mistake, you can unbuy a book as well, but be warned, as far as I know, you can only do this right after the purchase of a book.
If you’ve been in the market for a Kindle, I’d say go ahead and save up your money for one. But if you’re a cheap reader and don’t like to buy books in hardcover, don’t bother, since you might be paying more for a book in the end.
P.S. The title this time is from a book that’s within the story of another book. I just thought it was appropriate.

Well to summarize the week, I’ll just say that this week has been full of wonders, and full of pain. I’ve been sickly this whole week. Meesh had her birthday on Tuesday (yay!) and she got some good presents. Not from me, unfortunately, because we’re trying to save money, both for a new house and for taxes. Ugh. We owe this year.
Other than that, it’s pretty much the same old thing around here. I’ve got really nothing to complain about today. There’s probably a few things I’d like to throw out there, but I know I can’t just yet. Still waiting…
I don’t have my magical mirror today, so I’m afraid I’m not seeing anyone, but I do know that Pandora will be away for the next week, she just left for Germany! Yay! So I’ll be one of the guest bloggers over there, along with Daniel, Colin, and Abraxus. This should be some mass chaos over there. Looking forward to it.

This weeks Topical Tuesday is birthday memories. You know you’ve got that one birthday that you loved, or perhaps it’s one you totally hated! Well, here we go, you get to talk about it!
I don’t remember too many of my birthdays. Usually it involves me trying to ignore it and keeping it from friends. I try not to make a really big deal out of birthdays, and keep it on the down low, because I want my friends to do the same. Therefore, I really don’t have too many birthdays that I remember. Nothing really stands out.
Ok I lied, one does stick out, and it was the first year I was in the Navy. I was fresh and green, and my birthday came around, and I remember now that I got a card from my mom with some money, and I was so thankful. I went out and got chinese take out with it (that was a treat, believe me) and found out that one of my shipmates was also having a birthday. Neither one of us were drinkers at the time, but we shared some fun and played guitar and just had a great time. And you know, sadly I cannot remember his name. But we share the same birthday. The navy is such a small world. But that might have been one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had which I can remember.

1. Topical Tuesday is open with a new topic: Siblings – good or evil? I was going to do something, but I wasn’t quite sure on where I stood with that. I’m sure my sister could come up with plenty of evilness by me. She’s been pretty angelic to me.
2. cybr’s birthday. You should go over there and wish him a happy birthday. He’ll be like 35 or something like that. Yeah I don’t care, he’s younger than me, that’s all I know. So yeah, go ahead and wish him happy birthday.
So that’s all I’ve really got for this Tuesday. Oh I do have a video I’ll share with you, but it’s after the bump. It’s really funny, Danalyn sent it to me, and I laughed my ass off.
